The Garfield family home is located in Mentor, Ohio, just east of Cleveland. He is a distant cousin of mine and has lots of relatives in the area.

At one time, he was a philanderer and turned away from the sin so completely that he became an ordained minister.

I've been there, and it's worth a visit. Visitors can tour his home, see his book collection, and stand where he conducted his "front porch" campaign in 1880.
