Obama sent troops to Syria, then sent more on at least two occasions. Trump ordered the troops out of Syria in 2018. After the 2020 stolen election, retiring diplomat James Jeffrey publicly stated that the Defense Department had regularly lied to Trump about the number of troops in Syria.

I served with an officer who was stationed as an attache at the embassy in Jerusalem. He crossed the Allenby bridge border crossing to Jordan so often during his tour here that the border agents knew him.
