Welcome back!
We thought they’d never end...?
fasten your seatbelt
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
Reminds me of my lifeguard days when kids would swim up and tickle my leg hairs. And I had to face off with Corn Pop!! Corn Pop was a baad dude.
I feel ya, dakine! Buckle up!!
Welcome back.👍
Those were the days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s7MVwNFXjw
Is that you Joe?
Bunch of good old people, though. Welcome back!
Thank you posting this. Came to know FR in 2000, in time for the Gore-Bush contretemps and recount in FL. Those were the days. Bush was certainly better than blow hard crazy man Gore.. but little did we know of other entanglements as we know today. FR has been a blessing and a thorn in the side of many malcreants within our so called two party government system, who have created careers inside the Beltway of grift and graft and lies and internal un- Constitutional actions of unelected bureaucrats. People the Clintons adore, liars that they are still to this day— they deserve a reckoning as does most of the demonrat party apparat. Thanks again.
Is this an old timers thread?
Great tune.
Golden cymbals flying on ocarina sound...
The Trolls ranting about how they could run everything on "two fiddy" a day were laughable. As were many other Trollish posters.
As the days, months and years rolled by, Their numerous bizarre postulations about Free Republic became the source for the check-box options listed on the Free Republic ButtHurt Form (Digital Version).
May Free Republic rule the InterWebs forever!
Lol!
Didn’t there used to be an option for “I turned off my computer, went outside and did something constructive”?
At the time I joined (~1999) FR was the most important news discussion forum on the internet. I was on here for hours daily. VERY useful. VERY exciting!
A bunch of us learned a lot but looking back what’s most striking is how little any of us really knew. In the past 9 years or so the U.S. government (along with other Western governments) have been exposed as FAR more corrupt and demonic than I think almost any of us knew back then.
Then the internet landscape changed and given the rise of social media and the various civil wars that have occurred here this site now has a very different character and role than it did 25 years ago. Still nice, but not nearly so vital or influential.
It’s great to see an old-timers’ thread. I’m reminded of a more innocent time. I almost miss being so foolish and hopeful about the GOP and the electoral process.
