The California woman who was convicted of stabbing her boyfriend to death 108 times during a “cannabis-induced psychosis” received a slap on the wrist Tuesday for the brutal killing.
Bryn Spejcher, 33, was sentenced to two years probation and was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service after being found guilty of killing her new boyfriend, Chad O’Melia, according to the Ventura County Star.
Ventura County Superior Court Judge David Worley ruled that Spejcher “had no control over her actions” when she entered into a psychotic episode and stabbed O’Melia, 26, 108 times in his Thousand Oaks apartment on May 28, 2018.
Experts for the prosecution and defense both found that the marijuana bong hit given to Spejcher threw the woman into the deadly psychotic episode.

Potheads now have a license to kill
Women do half the time or less men do for the same crimes. That’s why our jails are full of mostly men - men are expendable. 1 million American men died in the 20th century alone from war. Shows we live in a matriarchal society.
Consider this scenario: teacher sleeps with a 15-year-old student. Male teacher is looking at jail time. Female teacher? Probation and the victim is given a high five.
Stupor or drunkenness are no excuse. A person is totally responsible for whatever he does if he voluntarily takes the drugs or gets drunk.
The judge is incompetent.
Is this why the states are now in the business of selling pot?
What a Clown World. Is no one responsible for their behavior? This a pathetic commentary on the judiciary.
It’s California. The only cure for that pile of excrement is the “Big One”, followed by sterilization, followed by salting, followed by pushing the remains into the sea.
Not so much that potheads have a licence to kill. More like psychiatrists have a licence to give BS justification for murder. That has not changed. The defendant’s lawyer found a “W.Witness.H.having.O.other.R.reasonable.E.explanation.” and the prosecution either chose not to challenge or their own expert did not persuade the judge or jury.
Even with the finding of a psychotic break the sentence is way too lenient. No reason she should not spend time behind bars.
Didn’t like the way he ph—ked her.
The eyes, Chico. They never lie.
Genesis 19:24-25 NLT
[24] “Then the Lord rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah. [25] He utterly destroyed them, along with the other cities and villages of the plain, wiping out all the people and every bit of vegetation.”
Unbelievable. I don’t care how much pot you use, you aren’t going to behave like that.
Not saying shes not at fault somewhat, but the boyfriend is a darwin award winner.
At the very least she needs a large forehead tattoo that cautions users to avoid contact...
Hey, boys, look who’s back in circulation!
Marijuana makes you violent?
That’s impossible.
If she hadn’t taken that bong hit, I shudder to think how much worse it could have been for him.
It wouldn’t surprise me that in California it takes 110 stabs to make it a crime.
Back in 1965 and 1966 - Rock and Roll to blame
“You better stop and look around
Here it comes, here it comes, here it comes, here it comes
Here comes your 19th nervous breakdown
Oh, who’s to blame? That girl’s just insane”
/s
Such a harsh sentence ...
Imagine what she would have got if she had stabbed him 109 times ....
Since when is stabbing a person 108 times involuntary?
