Good thinking. Since I moved to my rural locale several years ago, I’ve been busily making friends with all the local farmers, do-it-yourselfers of all kinds, etc. My nephew and his family raise chickens for eggs, and my Sis is the most gifted gardener I know. Wish I had the resources to have a water well dug, but as long as it’s available in the stores, I can buy and put aside 1 or 2 extras at a time, and at least be in better shape than city dwellers when their metropolitan water goes bye-bye.

This group answers to the Governor.
I wonder if they will over-see the elections in November?

What’s the trajectory; where will it make landfall?
Latest trick by the enviroMentals was to throw soup at the “Mona Lisa.”
It is free, and has loads of info

Good call, hot.
I use windy in tandem with Wunderground.com for local weather.
They have a node across the street at the elementary school so better than the ‘NOAA at the airport’ 30 miles away...in a cornfield.
I use windy to see what’s a-comin.
fairly accurate near near term, can plan an mc ride around it.
Also good for planning outside chores.
Oil and gas production comes from an ancient coral reef (scipio limestone).
The reef is in the shape of a horseshoe beginning in Rogers City moving west toward Pellston where an arc begins in Lake Michigan.
It curves around toward Allegan and terminating in Calhoun County.
It is a classic atoll reef.
This is why familes and friends are important...we all need to network so each can provide something so we all survive.
❤️ Love this!

"The Midcontinent Rift System (MRS) or Keweenawan Rift is a 2,000 km (1,200 mi) long geological rift in the center of the North American continent and south-central part of the North American plate. It formed when the continent's core, the North American craton, began to split apart during the Mesoproterozoic era of the Precambrian, about 1.1 billion years ago. The rift failed, leaving behind thick layers of igneous rock that are exposed in its northern reaches, but buried beneath later sedimentary formations along most of its western and eastern arms. Those arms meet at Lake Superior, which is contained within the rift valley. The lake's north shore in Ontario and Minnesota defines the northern arc of the rift. From the lake, the rift's eastern arm trends south to central lower Michigan, and possibly into Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama.[1] The western arm runs from Lake Superior southwest through portions of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska to northeastern Kansas,[2] and possibly into Oklahoma.[3]" ....Snip......
Had the rifting process continued, the eventual result would have been sundering of the North American craton and creation of a sea. The Midcontinent Rift appears to have progressed almost to the point where the ocean intruded.[7] But after about 15–22 million years the rift failed.[6][8] The Midcontinent Rift is the deepest closed or healed rift yet discovered; no known deeper rift ever failed to become an ocean.[7]
Agreed. Very good thinking. Those who plan ahead, usually come out ahead.
Re we’ll end up in the southern hemisphere, with Greenland at the equator.:
Maybe that’s why TtT joked about buying Greenland?
Re Railroad trestle:
Hmm. Gives new meaning to being run out of town on a rail.
Or “going to the train station.”
Good for Montana!
