I remember this case and how the news covered it like it was a circus. There were crowds of women outside the court every day and their histrionics were downright embarrassing! They'd scream and the media ate it up.

The man was not Husband-of-the-Year material, for sure. But I never believed he killed his wife.

From the start he told the police where he was at the time Laci went missing and he was fishing at Emeryville. The Modesto PD called that a lie on TV and put on a big show searching Lake Camanche, Pardee Reservoir, the California Aqueduct, and farmland in the area.

Then when Laci washed up at Emeryville they were all "A-HA! WE KNEW IT ALL ALONG!" and acted like their previous narrative had never existed.

Then they were all-in on convicting the man of murder.

Now it comes up that the MPD and the prosecutors were suppressing exculpatory testimony and evidence and they deliberately withheld this evidence during discovery.

At this point Peterson at least should have a new trial with the previously suppressed evidence presented.

The police still have no idea when she was killed or where. The also will not let neighbors who saw Lacy walking her dog in the neighborhood testify in court during the time she was supposed to be killed (6 altogether).

There is also a possibility she approached 2 men robbing a house across the street she didn't recognize while walking the dog.

I had always felt that Peterson is guilty. However, had I been on his jury I would have had to vote, “not guilty,” based upon the lack of hard evidence at trial. All of the evidence presented at trial was circumstantial and some of it presented by the prosecution was even suspiciously ‘plant’ evidence.

Dan Abrams reminded all of the evidence. Physical evidence! Seems they swept that under the rug. Scott’s jury was right!
