AT a recent Town Hall, hosted by Fox, President Trump was asked who would be his Vice President.
He replied, that he already had someone in mind, but would not say at this time.
We've all seen the list, that includes inexplicably people like Nikki Haley, Desantis and Ramaswamy.
Another list has people with some credibility like Tulsi Gabbard, Bryan Donalds and a few others like Rand Paul and even Robert Kennedy Jr.
In my mind, there is only one choice.
PLEASE LET IT BE BEN CARSON.
I can't think anyone better.
Any other name that comes to mind will part of the swamp, not loyal to Trump, incompetent, narcissistic etc.
Ben Carson, along with a hundred other reasons, can change this white supremacy nonsense moniker that they've put on Trump immediately.
He can be a great ambassador for minorities. No one can doubt that.
He can deliver, like he did when President Trump put him in charge of vitalizing the inner cities, as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Globally, he'd be great. Can you just imagine?!
Everywhere he'd go people, esp in this hemisphere and Africa will flock to him.
Ben Carson would be the kind of person, every young man and woman regardless of color would aspire to become.
I can think of a thousand other things, but you get my message.
Even the media would embrace him.
In short, Ben Carson would be Trump's Yang.
Yes. He is too timid and seems to be a dullard in that he , as you say, looks like he’s zonked.
I like the way you think.
I like Carson but he will be too old in ‘28 to inherit the mantle.
I like Vivek and a VP term could give him executive branch experience. He would be great with the press.
Another person great with the press who slready has executive experience is Sarah Huckaby and the mote i consider her the better i like the idea.
I’m hoping for Larry Elder
“Nikki is the logical choice.”
You misspelled “farcical”
I think Trump will be busy. The VP is usually a useless position. But a good leader should make it useful. Trump’s problem is that he is not a constitutional conservative. While nominally conservative in some ways, he’s really a pragmatic businessman. We need an activist VP to let him know where there are constitutional problems & how to solve them.
One of the first things that annoyed me about Trump was his statement in 2016 that the Federal Gov’t should hold on to land in the states, as they could ‘manage’ it better. Wrong. A) They manage it badly & B) you can make deep cuts in FedGov by getting land back in state hands & eliminating all those departments that manage it. That’s the kind of thing I want to see in a new Trump Admin. Or a new Republican Admin. I truly believe they will take Trump out physically if they can’t get him in prison by election time.
“We’re all talking about how the world does not fear Biden; it would be the same case with Carson.”
Not the same at all. Carson may be soft spoken, but he is the exact opposite of demented.
I’m with you
“3) he/she is a long-time political figure who can be managed by the GOP establishment.”
Can be? Was that a typo?
“One of the first things that annoyed me about Trump was his statement in 2016 that the Federal Gov’t should hold on to land in the states, as they could ‘manage’ it better. Wrong. I want to see the Federal land in the states west of Mississippi reduced to no more than the median percentange of land held/owned by the Federal government in the states east of the Mississippi. I want to see that accomplished by (1) given 50% of the land the Federal government must give up returned to control of the states (if they manage it badly that’s a state problem) and (2) 50% of it sold outright to American citizens and American companies (no foreign individuals and no foreign owned/controlled companies), with (3) 100% of the proceeds from the land sales used to pay down the federal debt.
I also want legislation to end and reverse the ability of the executive branch to designate various “preserves” and national parks, without VOTERS consent in the states - not the state government, the state’s voters. I want each current federal land of that type to have to be submiited to the state’s voters to decide if that federal designation should be kept or not. If the voters say no, then land must be returned to the state.
“We need an activist VP to let him know where there are constitutional problems & how to solve them.”
That does not require an “activist VP”. It requires a good cabinet with good legal persons with them and a good AG.
President Trump needs to pick an equal MAGA vice president. It would be the best insurance policy. Definitely NOT Nikki!
Another person great with the press who slready has executive experience is Sarah Huckaby and the mote i consider her the better i like the idea.
Great choice. I would love to pull the lever for Trump/Huckabee-Sanders
I think she actually would be a good choice.
Trump did have some “employee” issues in his administration. A terrific VP might help him avoid them in the future.
According to Mike Lee, the Supreme Court has ruled twice that the Feds cannot hold on to land outside of constitutional limitations. I remember George W. Bush saying that he tried to give the land back to the states, but they didn’t want the expense of managing it. I would’ve said too bad, if you won’t take it, I’m giving it to the counties. The counties could then decide what is useful & either sell to private entities for development or designate for citizen recreational activities. It should’ve been done long ago.
And I think National Parks should go away. The Fed shouldn’t control them when the states are perfectly capable of doing so. This would also stop the UN from designating things as cultural or natural heritage sites.
“I remember George W. Bush saying that he tried to give the land back to the states, but they didn’t want the expense of managing it.”
I don’t buy that argument from the states.
If I were POTUS I’d not only move to reduce the federal land holdings as I said, I’d reduce the federal budget for the current federal expenditures managing that land, and redcue the taxes comensurately, returning the money back to the people in the states (in lower federal taxes), and if the states want to take over tha land as “state land” they can ask voters to raise state taxes to do so.
“And I think National Parks should go away.”
I have np problem with National Parks, provided they are approved by the VOTERS in a state and responsibility is shared 50/50 between the state and the federal government.
Not that I think it would be a great idea but Tulsi Gabbard would cause fits on the DemonRats side. Kristi Noem would be a good pick as would Sarah Huckabee. I dislike Nikki Haley. I doubt Desaints would take it. Options are slim.
“Elise Stefanik is at the top of my list right now”
Mine, too.
Right, actually this will be the end of the Democratic party. Once all the corruption is exposed it may mean the end of the Republicans too.
