I believe had the Oilers won that game, they would still be in Houston today. Very likely. It was only a couple of years later that Bud Adams pulled his blackmail stunt again.
It broke our hearts, but this time, we had to say “no.”

I would have enjoyed watching the Dolphins v. Chiefs game, but have no Peacock, and will not get the Peacock... I refused to get it because of this. The friends in whom’s den I am ensconced have it. We’ll watch a little, but the blue norther is blowing in and my cat’s daily canned food serving is overdue. And my friend (and ride) needs to get home soon and walk his two pups. Priorities. LOL

Heck, *I* might need a beer after that disaster of a game(only joking, haven’t had any since 2019) Good on ya! I don’t drink it like I used to, but I enjoy a couple every now and then. And this was a legitimate occasion. :)

I guess I should be used to it by now since my first playoff memory was also against Houston, but I was 6 years old and it was Christmas Eve so it didn’t really matter. No positives to this game

Stadium filling up. Radio coverage says 20 below wind chill.
As an aside: i attended the KC vs Miami playoff on Christmas Day of 1971. Six quarters and the longest game ever played. I lost my voice from yelling as the Chiefs lost the game. We road back to Johnson County suburbs on a drunken bus disgruntled.

I sent her a text a few minutes ago, thanking her for talking me out of it. :) Oh yeah, good move keeping them!
I think with Ryans and Stroud, Houston fans are going to have a lot to cheer for in the near future!

Yeah well, the pets need to eat!
If it wasn’t an NBC service, I may have bothered to check out a trial or something... but not with them...

Pretty surprised at the Cleveland - Houston result. I actually thought Cleveland would win outright. What happened to their vaunted defense?!

Texans will beat any team left in the AFC, perhaps with the exception of the Ravens.after today they look like the team to beat in the AFC. Ravens beat them way back in week one of the season; this is not that same team.

I don't know if the cold contributed to this, but Patrick Mahones' helmut cracked when he was running toward the endzone and he collided with a defender. I mean a big chunk of plastic came off. I don't think I have ever seen that before.

I’ve been on scout campouts when it was sub-zero and freezing rain and wind trying to build a shelter. No matter how you prepare, this is tough weather. Just a small mistake and you fall or bang a foot in that weather you are suffering.

I have gone to, listened to and watched television broadcasts of their games for 60 years as of last November. Skipped a couple of years during the kneeling disease era but I’ve enjoyed most if it. As I was in the construction industry, I saw plenty of games live and even had club level tickets with club privileges for about a dozen years. Lots of fun.
I’m old and live far away, but it is still a fond association.
