Usually I prefer the original, but John Carpenter's "The Thing" was much better.

I thought The Thing (2011) was pretty good but the critics didn’t. It was a prequel to John Carpenter’s The Thing
(1982). It details the incidents at the Norwegian encampment that preceded the American’s. The film ends with them chasing the dog in the helicopter scene from the 1982 movie............. ...............
