Front-page news around the world.
Slavery in present-day countries? Not so much.
Mandatory DEI incoming!!!
Do you think it’s ‘Christian’ to tell a man his dead son is ‘in hell with the devil’?
What good does it do?
LGBT Q
It’s inappropriate to be cruel
Says more about them than the dead guy.
No issue has affected (infected) the Christian churches as much as the modern day acceptance of homosexuality. Too many people (especially woman) who claim to be Christians have placed their own personal views above those of God.
On so many issues facing modern society people have chosen to make a god in their image....homosexuality, the climate, abortion, etc.
Exactly.
None of us has much time left on this world. We should be praying for each other instead of tearing people down.
You just don’t know what battles people are fighting these days.
And we don’t know what battles we might ourselves fight in the future; or the forbearance we might appreciate in those days.
I was not there in that office but I can only figure that man was pushing the gay agenda because his son was.
The story even said he “He wore a rainbow T-shirt to the meeting where he resigned” so that says it all.
I realize it’s no comfort to him at this time but truth is truth. The son is not in heaven after years of unrepentant butt sex. As a father he should have been trying to lead his son away from that deathstyle not encouraging it.
A quick google search turns up:
Wesleyan University: Queer Studies program, a Queer Studies Research Collective, and the following course: Social Norms / Social Power: Queer Readings of "Difference" in America, Queer Theories: Junior Colloquium, Global Queer Studies, Queer of Color Critique, Queer/Anthropology: Ethnographic Approaches to Queer Studies, Queering the Dancing Body, Queer Russia, and Revolution Girl-Style Now: Queer Performance Strategies.
Similarly-named programs and classes exist at many other colleges and universities in the United States and elsewhere.
Agreed. However, I think that there is more to this story than what’s in the article.
I never realized the word “Queer’ was derogatory. I hear it used by homosexuals to describe themselves and others. Perhaps it was the intonation or context? I am sorry his son died at a too young age and that remarks were made that were painful to him. This is a situation with many families that is rife for possibility of conflict and emotional pain. It is possible to be polite and not speak ill of the dead, even if unintentionally.
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the …. Is a revolutionary act.”
You have no idea where the son is now or what he’s thinking or doing or how he’s assessing his Earthly life.
(Last I heard there was one God and one Jesus - and you aren’t either.)
“Do you think it’s ‘Christian’ to tell a man his dead son is ‘in hell with the devil’?”
According to the excerpt, that statement is disputed. So, I consider it a hypothetical.
Without context, one could easily answer “no.” However, this seems to be all about politics. If the New Hampshire town manager is using his son’s death to advance the LGBQT movement (as appears to be the case), then pretty much anything goes.
Jesus said be baptized and believe in Him. He is the way and the truth and the life. God judges a persons heart NOT us. People may believe that being gay is a sin but we ALL sin. Belief in Jesus is the way to heaven. We LIVE in a STATE of FORGIVENESS thru Jesus Christ.
I can make a good guess. If the father was wearing a rainbot t shirt when he quit that says it all. The son was faggot till the day he died.
