US Olympian and two-time All-American swimmer Richard Thornton collapsed and died on a California beach Thursday, according to his family.
He was 65.
The avid surfer was meeting with a friend at The Hook, a popular spot to catch waves in Santa Cruz, his brother, Marc Thornton, told ABC 7.
“He was following his buddy down the steps,” Marc Thornton added.
“His buddy jumped in the water, looked up for Richard, and Richard was just standing there at peace, not clutching his heart or anything, and he just kind of collapsed into the water.”
Thornton’s daughter, Kirra, blasted reports that the swimmer died in a surfing accident and said the cause of death was Thornton had been battling Multiple Myeloma, his family told the outlet.
Marc Thornton shared that his brother died “doing what he loved” in a Facebook post.
“He could be in a hospital for six months with an oxygen tube, losing weight and all that,” Marc told the outlet. “What a way to go for someone who loved the beach and being in the water.”
Thornton, then 21, qualified and was selected as a member of the US men’s Olympic swimming team in 1980.

We know someone who is suffering with multiple myeloma. Vietnam-era Vet. He got the full load of clot shots.
Doctors have told him the chemical exposure (Agent Orange, etc.) is the cause.
Sorry to see people sick from anything. Sure makes one wonder.
Yes, these people are as strange and neurotic as those who worship the vaxx. All psych cases.
It’s an opportunity for them to virtue signal about not having gotten the vax.
It's not the fall that killed him.
It was the sudden stop.
The sudden stop caused the fall.
He died of 'suddenly', a rather popular cause of death these days.
We're ALL psych cases these days...
Completely agree
Way back when, the first question I asked was "Where's the off switch".
No mRNA vaxxes in the nully nest.
I am very sorry for your wife and the difficulties she is going through with multiple myeloma. Fortunately, there are treatments that are helpful for it. But this is a very difficult time to try and sort out whether or not one should proceed with vaccines and boosters that may have an unpredictable effect on an already compromised immune system.
My neighbor and close friend was extremely active and had basically never been sick ever in all the years that I knew him. His wife is a nurse who works as a hospital administrator. She encouraged him to get vaccinated which he did. Not too long afterwards he started looking sick and limping around. But he kept on going and doing fairly strenuous work clearing brush etc... He refused to go to the doctor to get checked out. About a week before he died he got very sick and started staying in bed, but still refused to go to the doctor. Then his wife couldn't wake him up and realized that he was dead. It was found that he had cancer all through his body. None of us were told which type of cancer was most responsible for his death or if he had a stroke or heart attack. I am not sure that a determination was even made.
yeah, the authorities played games with covid mortality, and they are attempting to do so again, but to retaliate by upping their games to the level of lunacy is nothing but stupid...
My wife's brother had inoperable brain cancer and was in hospice care. When he died he was counted as a “Covid death”. Why? I assume it was because the hospital got more money that way. It certainly wasn't because of his symptoms. I remember being outraged at the time, but then people started being counted who were in car and motorcycle accidents, people were counted who had been stabbed and shot. And yet somehow there was no outrage over that.
And what about all of the people who died being treated for Covid who died not from the disease, but from the treatment? There still is little outrage from that and the bad protocol enforced by the government and medical establishment travesty.
You have a lot to be angry about right now. I am not sure that it is productive for you to get worked up over defending these vaccines which have had a lot of issues for a lot of people.
Pfizer's too, they just bought out a turbo-cancer treatment start-up company.
The easiest way to predict the future is to make it...
Thanks! Pfizer creates the problem. Then has a new medicine to treat the turbo cancers its vaxxx created.
Pfizer is a prostitute that works both sides of the street.
That’s true, but young world class athletes who are in better health or anyone on earth?
If you typed all that, you need to get some psychiatric help. If you pasted it, maybe that’s worse.
Excess deaths are not showing any abnormal death counts since the virus faded among ages 0-45. Frankly, this was also true in the worst virus years. Only the older ages were impacted by the virus, and they were hit very hard.
Since the virus faded, Excess Deaths among the older groups do not exist. They are near 0. They are what they were 2016-2019. The virus killed them. The vax is not.
Stop caring what wackos post. Go get the raw data yourself. CDC compiles Excess Deaths, but if you don’t trust them, go compile it yourself from every county or state array of death counts.
That would be a better use for your time, though not better than your psychiatric appointment.

See the map of the excessive deaths.
Drinking water was not subject to: an international disinformation campaign; government sponsored censorship programs; government sponsored deplatforming programs; secrey; blatent government lies; armies of lying MDs and PhDs promoting trust the science; or the like.
All directed to encouraging or forcing the adoption of a therapy technology that previously never made it to Phase 3 trials because it was too dangerous.
It was breath-taking to see the lengths they went to get mRNA therapies normalized. But it looks like their plan to roll-out this new ($$$$) tech backfired. Hardly anyone trusts these Frankenstein doctors anymore.
