The American bully XL is being banned in England and Wales, after a number of attacks involving the breed. The dogs must be kept on a lead and muzzled in public and can no longer be bred or sold.
From 1 February, it will be illegal to own an XL, unless the owner has been granted an exemption.
What is the American bully?
The dog breed originated in the US and is known for its strength.
According to the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC), it is a combination of the American pit bull terrier - already banned in England and Wales - and other bull breeds.

Was recently at a shelter and walking past the cages the Pits were barking viciously at me. Mean dogs.
All dog breeds are descended from wolves, in one way or another.
Dangerous breeds such as this and others should be destroyed. They serve no legitimate purpose. They highly favored by drug dealers and gangster types for obvious reasons. A female jogger near my house was attacked and severely mauled by a pit bull that jumped a chain link fence to get to her as she jogged by. The dog was destroyed, but this poor woman will never get over that ordeal.
English Bulldogs, think Warner Brothers cartoons and School team mascots as well as the Marine Corps mascot, were once feared as deadly mean dogs, but since WWII the breeding of a more docile version has made them into big lazy lumps of dog.
Perhaps that could be done to this breed, but it would take many generations to accomplish..................
