“All are fair questions, but wow, does the NYT want to shove a knife in Netanyahu’s back!”
His nation’s defenses failed when he was in charge.
There is no way to put that toothpaste back in the tube.
The political assault on Netanyahu is critical because the massive street protests and pressure from Biden on him over judicial reform led to something.
Three possible scenarios.
1. Protests pressured Netanyahu to do a J6 to light a backfire to stop his removal from power through these protests and the ongoing corruption trial.
2. Protests were a key contributing factor in undermining Israel’s ability to perceive the Hamas threat and respond to it. The protests fed a lack of readiness on October 7th.
3. Did forces behind Protests stage October 7th as a Deep State Op to ensure Netanyahu’s removal from power destroy him politically?
This is what I've always believed. The left-tard IDIOTS threatening to take down Bibi and the government for their precious leftist policies and out of control courts served to distract Bibi's (and other high-ranking officials) from watching the borders. I also believe that some really brain-deformed libbies in the Israeli government may have deliberately turned their backs or failed to inform people who critically needed important information to prevent the attack, thinking it wouldn't be so bad and would serve to bring down Bibi. Those people need to face the death penalty.
” so poorly organized that soldiers communicated in impromptu WhatsApp groups and relied on social media posts for targeting information.”
C’mon man! You aren’t buying this shite are you?
X: Yeah bomb that brown house on the corner.... NO THE OTHER CORNER! NO THE OTHER CORNER! NO THE OTHER CORNER!
We can stop being shocked if we look at our own 9/11 and Chinese balloon history.
The most glaring error, in my opinion, was the unreadiness and insufficiency of the reaction forces. It was bad enough the that the communities had little training in self-defense tactics and planning and the arms available were locked up in armsrooms, But the IDF?
Why in Heaven's name did it take so long for them to react? Israel is a tiny country! I traversed the whole length of Israel from Rafah to Quiriat Shimona at the Lebanese border in just a part of one day, driving a slow truck. Armor and helicopter transports should have been close enough and the troops on duty and sufficiently trained to immediately move against the enemy. There is no excuse for taking 8-12 hours to engage the enemy.
They had a frothing, bestial enemy on the other side of a FENCE - There should never be less that a reinforced battalion available, ready with transportation instantly, at all times.
There is also the issue of female troops at risk: some put up a decent fight (the one security leader who killed a number of Hamas terrorists to lead the defense of her kibbutz and the lady tank crew) but most surrendered quickly and were raped, brutalized, tortured and either taken hostage or murdered on the spot. Most women are not suited for direct combat and they make distracting victims against a deadly enemy.
Lastly, why in Creation's name was a music festival being held within arm's reach of Gaza? Are their leaders idiots? Why not just put up signs to show where the best victims could be found in easy reach?
If Netanyahu and his military leaders were responsible for this shameful debacle, they should resign immediately in disgrace.
The full reasons behind the military’s slow response may take months to understand.
It's an old story. Success breeds complacence. Even the IDF is human and they were caught unawares. It will not happen again. Apparently even the Mossad was napping.
Or, just maybe picking combat experienced military planners AHEAD of a potential military disaster.
Regardless of the outcome of the current war, I don't see how Netanyahu survives politically. There will be plenty of blame to go around, but as the PM he will be first in line.
Thank you.
“The full reasons behind the military’s slow response may take months to understand”
Many other things to understand like how over 1,000 terrorists were able to get across one of the most protected borders in the world. How Hamas was able to smuggle thousands of missiles inside their secured walls.
Like USA, a lot of traitors within the Israeli government, possibly to the very top.
Parliamentary systems have ‘ministerial responsibility’. The top guy takes the rap initially, but can make a comeback if reevaluation of disaster establishes blame elsewhere. For now, Netanyahu is through.
In criminal investigations, there's usually one lone wolf who eventually verbalizes the obvious (to some of us):
Isn't all of that all too convenient? Coupled with the slow response and poor communications, it's analogous to an 'orgy of evidence'.
(Footnote: The xiden administration sent nearly $1 billion to the ragheads in 2022)
To be clear, if true, I couldn't blame the Israelis for having their 9/11 for reasons I'm not listing in total, but since it's coming out of my back pocket, I really don't care for having my tail pulled under such a scenario when we have far bigger problems here at home (and which is giving me some serious ukraine deja vu).
Additionally:
What if that was but one (major) part of the goals of 10/7?
I've come to believe that most wars are started/allowed for certain reasons...
buyden wants a war....big oil wants a new canal....a variety of reasons...
I have no idea what you mean.

Too distracted by video games, porn, being angry with Netanyahu because he wanted to reform the judicial system in Israel.
Was October 7th allowed to happen as a January 6th to put out the fire of street protests opposing Mr. Netanyahu’s gov’t?
Those protesters a threat that made the crowd supporting President Trump on J6 in Washington seem pale by comparison.

“Was Jan 6 allowed to happen?” is a logical corollary.
But no one is telling YOU to shut up.

If the IDF had been prepared and the Israeli forces had quickly extinguished the Hamas terrorists and protected those unarmed and unwarned Israeli citizens, then those goals would have failed.
But it's also abundantly clear that the IDF and the intel leaders failed miserably (like 9/11)
I still have no idea what you mean.
Have a nice day.
