Cost of the ticket is the same regardless as to what the prize amount is. While a couple of million might satisfy some, for others the more the merrier. 🙂
Besides, the bites taken from the Federal & State governments can eat up a hefty percentage. Another reason for the more the merrier thinking winners. 🙂

I bought a $10 ticket. I figured what the hey, it’s worth a shot.

Judging from some of the folks I see standing in line to buy tickets I’d say there’s a whole lot of mathematically challenged around.Oh there are. OTOH I won $200 on a $20 scratch-off yesterday.

You did turn around and by 10 more $20 tickets with your winnings I hope. No self respecting lottery player would do otherwise. 😁

I knew something was up when Wells Fargo assigned us an investment banker 8 years ago. I retire Jan 1 and have already started looking for a job. No matter how much money you have, it is never enough. If I can work for a year, I can retire with full Social Security.
My daughter and her husband already have a higher income than we ever had.

“Are you saying if God chose to entrust you with two hundred million dollars,
you wouldn’t be able to invest it in eternity?”
I’m pretty sure God doesn’t need money. You can’t beat God giving.

You don’t get to live eternally by investing money my friend.
God has cattle on a thousand hills, he owns it all to begin with, we are just stewarding what he has already blessed us with.
God’s Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works (Ephesians 2:8-9)
You could give a trillion dollars to charity......it won’t get you one centimeter closer to Heaven.
Faith my friend.....that’s where we need to be.

Johnny Depp, once worth $500 million, and Mike Tyson, once worth $300 million, is proof of that.
A lottery win at best, if well managed, is a step up from where you are. From a compact car to a sedan or a three bedroom apartment to a three bedroom house.
It is best advised to keep working in a job that pays something in order to stretch out your win for as long as possible.

He owns it all.
He works through people.
He entrusts us with wealth and looks for faithfulness.
He commands us to give.
Souls - especially in the Muslim world - are on sale now and a great eternal investment.

You misunderstand.
We can invest our temporal wealth in eternity by reaching souls for Christ now.

Sure I get it.
However, my point is we must have faith to begin with. The first step is to believe the first four words of the Bible. If not, anything and everything else is all for naught.

The winner should, the key word being should, be able to grow a fortune from the winnings, whether by one lump sum, or annual annuities. No offense but that's funny. I'm trying to imagine having 300 million dropped in my lap and then being concerned about "Growing a fortune" and making more money.

No matter how much money you have, it is never enough. Sounds like someone with a problem. I'm pretty confident there are millions out there who would be quite content with someone handing them 300 million.
