A detergent ad that aired in China shows a black man being transformed into a fair-skinned Asian after being stuffed into a laundry machine. CBSN's Josh Elliott shows us the commercial that's causing global outrage.

I would consider this an attempt by the CCP to foment racial division, ultimately targeting the USA.
That's why they will survive and we won't.
I still remember the scene from the movie THE COMIC(1969) STARING DICK VAN DYKE in which Isabel Sanford is advertising WHITEE WASH detergent.
In trying to find a copy of that scene I get lots of links to the girl washing the car in Cool Hand Luke but none of Isabel holding the Whitee Wash detergent.
This is all I could find.

"There are two things that come from Oklahoma: steers and queers."
These 30 something women had never heard of the movie. I make it a point to not bring up Blazing Saddles at work. Nearing 70, I'm by far the oldest employee at my company.
LOL, last week I was approached by a retired partner, who said "what do you do here? Everytime I see you, you're at your cubicle, working...not that that's a bad thing."
My job is secure for at least the next year. They have me working on a project involving one of our resorts that had significant fraudulent activity over a four year period. Once I complete the support to the lawyers, I'll shift over to amending their last four years tax returns.
In "Full Metal Jacket", it was Texas.
I remember an ad where a young Cindy Crawford goes into the Pepsi deprivation chamber and emerges as Rodney Dangerfield.

At one time, I’d agree. But I’ve known plenty of Japanese and don’t find that to be the case at all.
In fact, my niece is there teaching for over a year now and her observations/experience echo my own here.
And now you know the "rest of the story". LOL
There was a black 60s comedian who took umbrage at the Ajax “white knight” commercials. Might have been Godfrey Cambridge. Wish I could remember. It was pretty funny.

Who cares, it's not being shown in Negro America to the most Racist Group on the planet.
And it's seven years old, (generally more mature than that group).
That stuff turned that negro into a Chinaman!
What’ll they think of next?
“I think Japan is pretty darned xenophobic.”
In country briefing decades ago basically said that they are proud of their heritage and lore. After the Genome Project was completed I think they found that the Japanese were begotten from the Korean peninsula oddly enough that’s where the Turks came from too.
And although the Japanese may be racially proud, they are polite about it and expect that visitors respect their racial privacy, therefore there are clubs, restaurants etcetera that nobody but Japanese are allowed into. But that doesn’t mean it’s special, it just means they want to be with their own kind occasionally.
I don’t find anything wrong with that at all. Having worked in Japan and around Japan and with lots of Japanese in heavy industry I can appreciate that and I respect that and they respected me because I respected them.
As if China gives a rip what anyone thinks.
Wish we were more like that.
Why are leftists perpetually ‘outraged’?
Really? And all this time I thought it was the Japanese.
The news guy was such a whiner. I bet his husband was even more upset.
