There are two rules of “right of way”.
One of them is in the law books.
The other is in the physics books.
The latter trump the former.

“The Law of Sizes”
Because their mothers don’t “train” them up right.
My Dad called it “The Law of Gross Tonnage”, and strongly impressed it upon my mind when I was learning to drive. I carry on his legacy ...
Two corollaries when working on an airfield:
A) Spinning things have right of way.
B) Sucking things have right of way.
C) if in close proximity exploding aircraft tires will more than likely kill you
D) The piece of FOD you didn’t pick up is the one that will kill somebody.
Amen
Was he trying to sneak onto the Auto Train?
Don’t do that! 🙄
Maybe if they stop giving out Darwin awards it’ll help?.
Side cutain airbag did its job.
can’t they just total the driver?
My first attempt at replying to multiple recipients - apologies if it didn’t work
My father worked his way up from yard fireman on the Denver & Salt Lake (Moffat Road) to Division Engineer on the Denver & Rio Grande.
The few time he talked about grade crossing accidents, he noted that the train crews’ damage wasn’t always psychological. EMD diesel electric F model locomotives in many models have a door above the pilot on the A-units. A collision with a fuel tanker often injected burning fuel into the cab. Not nice for the engineer and whomever (head brakeman or fireman) might be riding in the cab.
Yeah if the blockage is big enough it can really mess the train and crew up.
