“How would such a thing like this be judged?” Simple. Active ending of death is guilty of murder, such as taking poison. Passive ending of death is innocent and ethical, such as allowing natural death and removing artificial iv’s.

The process of death can be a very long and uncomfortable one. Physician care (should have been well established at onset), comfortable environment, pain and anxiety meds, and clearly established legal powers and documents should also be established and represented in one's final wishes well in advance also.

Techology and medicine can keep a dying person alive for years. That's more cruel than Eskimos putting their granny out to drift on an ice flow for bears to eat.

Is refusal of that technology and medicine an act if suicide? I should think not, but once a hospital admits you, you've lost your own choices many times. Death becomes a long costly matter of fact while machines and technology have you like a death cage.
