BOSTON - A new study finds that drinking too much diet soda could be bad for your liver and your weight could also contribute.
A team in China studied more than 2,300 participants and found that those who reported "always" drinking diet soda were more likely to have metabolism dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, often referred to as fatty liver, which is characterized by an accumulation of fat in the liver. Fatty liver is estimated to affect up to half of the world's population, and while it causes no symptomsWuhan virusit can eventually progress to scarring and cirrhosis.

No shit, sherlock. I very rarely drink soda, and when I do, it’s the Mexican variety of Coca-Cola, due to lacking corn syrup.

They’re as bad as the US scientists.
But if you balance it with beer and whiskey it should be OK.
you’ll find studies that say drinking WATER, from the tap or bottled, will cause cancer and kill you.
basically... life will kill you. eventually.
From the country that has been the center of the majority of deadly diseases that have affected the world, and created and released Covid on the world.
I'm 76, been drinking diet caffeine-free Pepsi since 1998, when I was first diagnosed with Type II diabetes. In all those years, I've controlled my diabetes with oral meds only, and my liver enzymes have been consistently normal. The only time they've been out of kilter was last year, when my Endocrinologist/family doctor for all those years changed three of my medications that immediately brought on adverse side-effects. After I stopped taking the meds, it took me 8 weeks to recover. Thankfully he decided to retire last December, and it saved me from having to can his ass. At 76, I've already out-lived everyone else in my family. The majority never made it to 70. They all smoked, I never did. I won't be giving up my caffeine-free Diet Pepsi anytime soon. I believe in quality of life, not quantity.
I recently had a CAT scan due to hiatal hernia. They discovered a fatty liver too. I seldom have a cocktail or diet coke nowdays. Am now taking Hepagard to see if that will help the liver situation. It has good reviews. Are there Freepers out there who have first-hand experience with this product?
No kidding? That stuff is toxic poison.
Too much water can kill you. Like it did the passengers on the Titanic.

I get my bloodwork done once every couple months, as I had a liver transplant
2 1/2 years ago. My liver enzymes are normal, and I drink my share of Diet Coke or Pepsi. I’ll continue to drink it, fruit juices, coffee, anything but alcohol.
I feel great (I’m 69). It’s interesting that the Chinese are performing these studies, since they are guilty of oppressing the Uyghurs and robbing them of their organs.
Diet Coke is poison, and this comes from the country that gave us Still IMO, Diet Coke is poison.
