Former President Donald Trump mocked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' debate against California Gov. Gavin Newsom, dubbing it the 'Battle of Loserville,' as DeSantisworld sources say the governor's 2024 campaign is running out of steam.
After midnight on Truth Social Friday, Trump shared a dubbed 'Battle of Loserville' video, with moderator Sean Hannity asking DeSantis, 'Have you ever betrayed the greatest president who ever lived, President Donald J. Trump.'
Senior campaign aides are feeling gloomy about their chances in the upcoming primary, which kicks off with the Iowa caucuses on January 15.
'People increasingly think it's over,' a person close to DeSantis told The Post. 'It's a dumpster fire.'

In a Robert Reich world, Ron DeSantis is king
I don’t know or care what GROUP or Association or Party you represent...BUT I AM NOT A MEMBER OF ANY OF THEM.
I voted for Trump twice. He lost. If he couldn’t stop a steal when he was president, he certainly cannot now. And his 3 time loser appointee isn’t doing anything to stop a steal in 2024.
If I could be assured of Trump winning in 2024, I would take that right now. Unfortunately, I don’t believe he will win. I believe DeSantis could win and would be able to accomplish the same things. I also believe he could win a second term which we need to reverse the hussein obama/biden three terms.
No bigger backstabber than Trump.
Well about 80+ million people sure don’t think so. How many buy what your boy is selling?
Seaplaner, Trump is NOT insulting you!!!
Imagine, in the early years of Trumps admin, when Ron was asked if he was interested in becoming President. He was doing a great job as Governor. If I remember correctly, Ron said...He would NOT run if Trump was running.
Fast Forward, suddenly Ron is asked...will you run for President?...
AND HIS ANSWER WAS .. THE EQUIVELENT OF “WE’LL SEE”
WTH was that???
Ron’s mistake was, he listened to the likes of Ryan, Rove, Ed Rollins...who eventually led him to “disloyalty”
I think Trump has a special dislike...maybe over reaching...
dislike for that.
Trump didn’t have 80+ million votes.
Dems will go all out to make sure Trump is never in office again. No one motivates democrats like Trump. He didn’t do much to help himself with his behavior, comments, and tweets during the last term. Every time he got anything positive going he would say or do something that was so off the way it was all negative again.
His negatives are too high. That’s a fact. Don’t believe the media, they want Trump to be the nominee because they like democrats. They pick their losers. They did the same with McCain and Romney. They told us that only McCain could win in a general election. The early primary (mostly blue states) gave the nomination to McCain before conservative states got a chance to vote. Same for Romney. They knew he was a loser. They will turn up the heat like never before once Trump wins the nomination.
If he loses, I am sure you’ll never admit to being wrong. If Trump could somehow win in the general election, I’d be very happy to admit to being wrong. My belief is that we’ve got to rid our government of it’s current leaders. I don’t believe Trump is our best option to win.
That was a thoughtful reply and I appreciate it.
BUT, Ron, as good as he is as a conservative and sometimes appears to be a “stick in the mud” not really reaching John and Mary Jones.
Trump has the ability to say things that MANY of his followers dislike, BUT, for some unknown reason, he appeals to the “guy at the bar”, Ron, doesn’t, the sports fan...Ron doesn’t...the WHISPER of Clint Eastwood...Ron doesn’t.
If Ron would be patient, his time will come, but we need a guy who can call people names and make them LAUGH about it.
Personally, I’m enjoying it AT THIS PARTICULAR TIME.
I could care less what the Republican establishment’s controlled and paid for puppet Ron DeSantis says about anything anymore.

I believe to a team sports website that had thousands of fans. One are on the site is for fans to discuss non-sports issues. Most all the fans on this site are southern conservatives where politics is regularly discussed. I’ve seen numerous polls on the website and 80%+ of the conservative voters prefer DeSantis over Trump. Most will of them will say they’ll vote for Trump if he wins the nomination but prefer DeSantis.
I know I’ll vote for Trump if he wins the nomination. I just think DeSantis offers us a better chance in Nov. 2024.
DeSantis isn’t a RINO or establishment guy but if you repeat it enough it might become true. Saying that tells me you know very little about DeSantis.
Well, in the end, we can only hope.
I think either would do a good job, BUT I think Trump has the ability to drive the Left crazy...and I love that.
Warm regards.
Mister Trump's childish, schoolyard names for the candidate my family and I support for the GOP nom are insults to us, and there is no mistaking that. There is no other interpretation.
Mister Trump has pushed away so very many of us, who could have been supporters, had he only acted in a genial, Reaganistic fashion. (And, please, no post-nomination gratuities such as..."I've changed my mind about Ron". That's an even greater insult, as we are not as stupid as he might think.)
His insults blast the GOP into factions and fractions, easy pickings for the Dems.
Trump will likely win the nom and lose the general in a landslide, sad to say. And, it's all on Trump.
My drug of choice, yes. lol
Agree. Either one of them would do a good job. As I said, I would be happy to see Trump win in 2024. Unfortunately, I don’t believe he’s our best bet to remove obama/biden.
Okay.
This was the result of poor debate prep. His team (Christie?) convinced him that Biden was too senile to debate. All they had to do was unnerve him and get him off his game and Biden’s dementia would be apparent.
That’s not what happened. Trump came across as rude and Biden as reasonable. It was a bad game plan that should never have been attempted. Trump should have gone “ultra statesman” and let Biden sink or swim on his own.
Future scholars will trace the end of civilization to the end of guitar solos.
A lot of Trump “supporters” genuinely don’t care if he wins, though. Some have expressed as much here. They just want to flip the bird at the swamp and be entertained. Trump checks those boxes in spades.

True. Trump had a good record to stand on. He just needed to act like a statesman. He should have allowed biden to expose himself.
