Thin Lizzy were not a one hit wonder. I agree, "Breakout" is their classic song.

"Cowboy Song" and the best version of "Whiskey In The Jar."

For Lynn Anderson, they probably meant chart-wise, meaning, though she only had one big hit on Billboard hot 100, she had plenty of hits on their Country & Western charts, if that makes any sense.

Technically, “Rush” is a one-hit wonder because “New World Man” was their only Top-40 song.

The Left Banke’s “Pretty Ballerina” got a lot of air play on our local Top 40 stations, KRLA and Boss Radio 93 KHJ, around the time of Super Bowl I. However, it may have been a local hit

The Cyrkle had “Red Rubber Ball”, but “Turn Down Day” is a much better song.

How to improve your writing in one easy lesson.

Before: The sailor she loved was committed to the sea and couldn’t love her back.

After: The sailor she loved thought she was a fine girl, but his wife, his lover, his lady, was the sea.

You left out the "Dooo dooo dooo do dooo do do doo doo..."

Thee’s only one song on that list I didn’t know. A couple that I knew but not well. The rest were bonafide hits

“Seasons in the Sun” seemed like perky little tune.

Then you got to “Goodbye, My friend, it’s hard to die.”

And you thought: “Wow! That got dark really fast.”

I disagree. The Unkachakas are the best background vocals ever.

Lynn Anderson had a number of Hot 100 hits, but only one of them rose higher than #50. Howqever, she had beaucoup hits on the Country-Western charts.

Kind of like “Pumped Up Kicks”. My wife was really enjoying the song, then I had to clue her on what the lyrics were.
