Play that funky music, white boy. One of the best dance songs ever.
It's only Rock & Roll, but I like it.
I looked at the list and I don’t consider performers like Randy Newman and Charlie Pride to be “one hit wonders.” One of my all-time favorite one hit wonder songs was “Walk Away Renee,” by The Left Banke in 1966.
“The Boys Are Back In Town” by Thin Lizzy
Thin Lizzy were not a one hit wonder.
Except Ted had other hits so not sure why it is on one hit wonders.
I think they mean hits that got big radio airplay.
Some of these had other hits that didn’t get a lot of airplay, and some of these had more than one album, but those albums didn’t spawn bit hits in terms of radio airplay.
The Knack was not a One-Hit Wonder. “Good Girls Don’t” went to #11.
I agree, "Breakout" is their classic song.
Confused about ‘one hit wonders’. I think of someone who came out of nowhere, had a hit song, and then faded away. Lynn Anderson? Charley Pride? They had a lot of top 10 songs and long careers.
I had that on 45..................
Eve of Destruction...Barry McGuire.
That was Tony Burrows, who was a five-time one-hit wonder:
1970: "My Baby Loves Lovin'" (White Plains)
1970: "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" (Edison Lighthouse)
1970: "United We Stand" (Brotherhood of Man)
1970: "Gimme Dat Ding" (The Pipkins)
1974: "Beach Baby" (The First Class)
“Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede was pure garbage.
They ruined a beautiful love song, originally by BJ Thomas, RIP.................
He ain't good lookin', but he sure can play.
He had a few more hits.
Whoop, that was the 60s when most of the best stuff was written.
16. “It’s Magic” by Pilot
Produced by Alan Parsons. David Paton and Ian Bairnson of “Pilot” were the core of The Alan Parsons Project.
Nothing Rhymed? Matrimony? Claire? You could probably count the number of people who could sing a few bars of those songs on your right hand.
The Rapper - The Jaggerz
Lead singer was Donnie Iris, who went on to have a hit later with “Ah, Leah”.
Jimmy Carter’s rendition of the Bunny Hop.
