The only problem is, in searching the names, there is an obit for a Kurt Villani, of Grand Island, NY (very near Niagara Falls, NY), which shows a 72 year old man, who passed away on August 6, 2022, married to Gail. So there are a couple of questions to be answered by the press. Was this fellow driving with his mother, Gail? Were the various 'reporters' who researched the names, lazy and didn't dig deep enough to realize that the 'Kurt', who was married to 'Gail', died over a year ago. What about 'Monica', listed as wife of Kurt, Jr.? Until the surviving family members post obits about the deceased, this will remain a mystery.
I don't think this was a failed terrorist attack but rather, 'journolists' who were unwilling to actually check FACTS. Once the family is able to post obits, we'll have a better idea of what happened, or at least to whom.
As it is barely 24 hours since the deaths, I can understand why there is nothing yet. Losing one parent is difficult. Losing both? That is hard to imagine. My sympathies to the surviving family members on the loss of parents, or perhaps father and grandmother.
