New research on the spread of online misinformation and disinformation in Ireland has revealed that the influence of the far right is growing.
The study by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) also shows that tech companies are failing to enforce community guidelines to curb the spread of false, misleading and harmful content on social media platforms.
The research, entitled “Uisce Faoi Thalamh: An Investigation into the Online Mis- and Disinformation Ecosystem in Ireland”, analyzed more than 13 million posts from 1,640 accounts across 12 online platforms between January 2020 and April 2023. […]
According to the research, far-right groups and individuals, as well as alternative media outlets, play a major role within the mis- and disinformation ecosystem. […]
Researchers noted that most topics are highly interconnected with the same people found to be discussing varying issues, with the closest links seen between conversations about health, Irish politics and immigration. […]
The study found that online discussions often attempted to fuel offline hostility and violence, promoting anti-lockdown and anti-immigration mobilization and encouraging protests in libraries, bookshops and schools to target the LGBTQ+ community. […]
According to the research, climate is becoming an increasingly important topic within the mis- and disinformation ecosystem, often being framed as part of the broader “culture war”. …

Better research points to the established radicalization of the orthodox news media
Wow! 1640 cherry picked accounts over a 3+ year period.
I wonder how much of this mis/dis-information and conspiracy theory material eventually turned out to be true. Notice the remaining concern is climate change, something that cannot be dis-proven again for another 7 years. SMH

Limited government and individual freedom are “misinformation”.
Bkmk
Just because it’s true, doesn’t mean that it’s not ‘misinformation’. ‘Misinformation’ is anything’ the left doesn’t want you to hear or read.
And does this necessarily involve dis or misinformation, or just subjects escaping the narrative?
Conspiracy theory: Assumptions that go against the accepted narrative.
Misinformation, disinformation: Facts that contradict the accepted narrative that the Deep State and the oligarchs do not want you to know.
Safe and effective: Peddling dangerous medicines or vaccines
Experts: Propagandists who reinforce the accepted narrative.
Tht comes out to about 200 posts a day. That’s either a bunch of bots or someone with no job.
Hateful ideologies spread with ease, with support for white nationalism, antisemitism and Islamophobia observed on platforms like Telegram and Instagram, while Holocaust denial and the promotion of Nazi material
That sounds like DU and a bigly number of leftists.
To marxists, people who aren’t marxist probably LOOK like they’re far right, even when they’re passively thinking conservatively.

Very informative.
BTW, this lot is registered as a 501c3 in the US.
Handy, that.
The left crying about extremism would be a joke is it wasn’t potentially dangerous.
Ireland has taken in thousands of mooslimbs and are now suffering the consequences.
The Globalist Left are going to be taken out, and they know it. /spit
About f’n time!
They are subjects we’re just supposed to accept the far left narrative without thinking about how suicidal it is. There can be no debate. You know how the left hates debate. They would rather smear dissenters as Nazis, anti Semites and homophobes. And right now the left looks pretty bad on the subject of antisemitism with what’s going on in Israel right now. So, they have to deflect and project - something they are famous for. They go to great lengths to do it, like staging fake nazi protesters in Madison, WI. The Irish are famous for their storytelling which is pretty useful for the left.
>> the influence of the far right is growing
I like to think of it as “sanity and common sense and love of GOD and country are returning worldwide after a period of marxist mental illness”. Label me however you like. “Far right”? Okay.
Just seeing the term “Far-Right” lets me know this is disinformation on disinformation.
It’s amazing how quickly GroupThink became a thing
