A few summaries of the day.
First of all, I want to thank all our defenders of the sky who are on combat duty every night and every day. Overnight, we managed to shoot down 16 “ Shaheds” alone.
I thank all the pilots and engineers of the Ukrainian Air Force, all our anti-aircraft gunners and warriors of mobile fire groups. Every time they achieve a result, it is a result for the whole country. This is a salvation for our people, for our cities, for Ukrainian infrastructure.
Of course, I also thank everyone in the world who helps.
The geography of our cooperation for the sake of a sky shield for Ukraine is very extensive. Not everything can be told publicly now. But what is absolutely certain is that Ukraine is constantly getting stronger. Our air defense capabilities are increasing.
Of course, this is not yet a hundred percent protection. There is a lot of work to be done. Cities like Kharkiv, regions like Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia need more systems, more security. This is the task of all our diplomats, of our entire state.
I thank everyone who is effective in this.
The second point for today. The Day of Radio, Television and Communications. A special day. It combines creative professions and a lot of technical and organizational work. It brings together those who are on and off camera. Those who are on the air and without whom no broadcast is possible.
I congratulate the employees of the entire industry on this day and sincerely thank them for the fact that Ukraine was not left without information for a single day of the full-scale war. And communication – even when the occupiers disrupted it – was always restored.
Under fire and in the de-occupied areas, in all cities and communities, there are always those who work for the sake of awareness of Ukrainians, for the sake of communication for our people, for the sake of the world knowing and understanding Ukraine and what we want.
Today I held several meetings with media representatives. I met online with journalists, editors, producers – in general, with the employees of the channels that ensure the work of the United News marathon. This is a very important element of our unbreakability and our unity.
I thanked them for this work, for their energy and efforts in raising awareness and protecting people from Russian disinformation in the interests of the entire society. I also met – offline, in person – with journalists working for leading foreign media, news agencies, English-language Ukrainian media and radio. It was a long, very productive and interesting conversation. I am grateful for every question, almost all of them were difficult. We will definitely do some of the things that the journalists talked about today. First of all, it concerns media access to the frontline – the opportunity to cover more frontline events. But, of course, all the other topics that were raised will be followed by the relevant decisions.
One more thing.
The new British Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, visited Ukraine. This is his first working visit in this position. A visit to Ukraine. I am grateful for the attention to our country, to our people and for this signal to the world.
A signal that by helping Ukraine, you are helping global stability.
We talked about the frontline, weapons for our warriors, some very important and sensitive issues of international relations. It was a good meeting.
These days, an important international event at the parliamentary level took place – the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation. The Summit is in Ukraine. I am grateful to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk for organizing the summit. I addressed the participants. I believe that we should all pay more attention to what Ukraine has achieved in the Black Sea.
Our country has fundamentally changed the situation in the Black Sea – Russia has lost control. And in general, it has lost hope of keeping the Black Sea for itself as a springboard for aggression against other nations. We will do everything to enhance this result.
Glory to everyone who is fighting and working for Ukraine and our independence! I thank everyone who helps!

An unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces attacked a military unit in the Kotluban settlement of Russia’s Volgograd region on the night of October 15, Russian Telegram channels have reported.
Fire that started in the yard of the military unit after the drone strike, started spreading to a warehouse where ammunition and military equipment were stored.
Local residents reported hearing several consecutive explosions. Some 630 people have been evacuated from the area. Of them 379 are military personnel and 251 are civilians. There have been no reports of casualties during the incident.

As part of the ongoing dialogue with the countries of the Global South, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak had a phone call with Acting Secretary General of the National Security Council of the Kingdom of Thailand Chatchai Bangchaud.
Andriy Yermak expressed gratitude for the consistent support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia’s ongoing full-scale aggression. Among other things, he spoke about Thailand’s support for Ukraine’s key initiatives within the UN, as well as humanitarian assistance to overcome the consequences of the Russian invasion, including providing shelter to forcibly displaced Ukrainians.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula aimed at restoring international law and order and respect for the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. The Head of the President’s Office thanked the interlocutor for participating in the third meeting of national security and foreign policy advisors held recently in Malta. Andriy Yermak invited the Thai party to actively participate in the practical implementation of the Peace Formula and join the preparation and holding of the upcoming Global Peace Summit.
In the context of the Peace Formula, the interlocutors touched upon the issue of nuclear safety and the role of the IAEA in ensuring compliance with the relevant universal norms.
The parties discussed the issue of global food security. The Head of the President’s Office emphasized Ukraine’s readiness to continue acting as its guarantor and spoke about our country’s efforts to ensure the functioning of an alternative “grain corridor” in the Black Sea. Andriy Yermak invited Thailand to join the global humanitarian initiative “GRAIN FROM UKRAINE” and take part in its second international summit on November 25 in Kyiv.
The parties coordinated further steps to intensify bilateral political dialogue between Ukraine and Thailand, as well as cooperation in multilateral formats, including ASEAN

Norway monitors the situation with Russian migrants, currently, there is no increase in activity. However, the country is ready to quickly close checkpoints on the border with Russia, if the need arises.
This was stated by the Minister of Justice of Norway, Emily Enger Mel, reports Censor.NET with reference to NTB.
She emphasized that there is currently no increased activity at Storskog, the only land border point with Russia.
“We are carefully monitoring the situation, and we are ready to promptly close the border if necessary,” Mel added.
She added that Norway does not record the situation on the border with Russia similar to the one observed in Finland.
As a reminder, Finland will completely close 4 checkpoints on the border with Russia from November 18. Estonia is considering the possibility of closing the border with the Russian Federation.

Estonia is considering closing its border with the Russian Federation, because after Finland closed its borders, Russian emigrants may try to get to Estonia.
This was stated by the head of the Estonian border service, Veiko Kommusaar, in Postimees, Censor.NET reports.
According to Kommusaar, Estonia knew about Finland’s decision to close four checkpoints on the border with the Russian Federation. This “may mean that people who have been gathering at these borders until now will end up at Estonian border crossings,” he added.
“We are closely monitoring the situation and, if necessary, are ready to prevent any illegal migration. Depending on the situation at the border, this may mean partial or complete closure of checkpoints,” Kommusaar said.

Day 631 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine continues.
The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets.
During the day of November 16, there were 62 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 9 missile and 31 air strikes, 26 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Moreover, the russian federation launched another air strike on Ukraine, using 18 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Air defense forces destroyed 16 attack UAVs.
The operational situation in east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
VOLYN and POLISSYA AXIS: no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bIordering Ukraine.
SIVERSHCHYNA and SLOBOZHANSHCHYNA AXIS: the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Around 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Klyusy, Arkhypivka (Chernihiv oblast), Zarichchya, Chuikivka, Bachivsk (Sumy oblast), Veterynarne, Vovchansk, Ohirtseve, Nesterne, Dvorichanske (Kharkiv oblast).
KUPYANSK AXIS: the enemy conducted failed assault operations in the vicinities of Synkivka and Petropavlivka (Kharkiv oblast). The Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 attacks in the area. The occupiers launched an air strike near Petropavlivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).
LYMAN AXIS: the adversary did not conduct any offensives (assaults). The invaders launched an air strike in the area of Serebryanske forestry (Luhansk oblast). The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).
BAKHMUT AXIS: Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 enemy attacks in the vicinities of Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriyivka (Donetsk oblast). The occupiers launched an air strike near Dyliyivka (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements, including Markove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Andriyivka (Donetsk oblast) came under artillery and mortar fire.
AVDIYIVKA AXIS: the enemy conducted failed assault operations east of Stepove, Avdiyivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast), where the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 1x attacks. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 15 settlements, including Sukha Balka, Keramik, Tonenke, Avdiyivka, Netailove, Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).
MARYINKA AXIS: the adversary made unsuccessful assaults with air support in the vicinities of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 attacks. The settlements of Oleksandropil, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiyivka, Maryinka, Pobjeda, Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka (Donetsk oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.
SHAKHTARSKE AXIS: the invaders conducted assault operations near Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), to no success. The adversary launched air strikes near Urozhaine and Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Bohoyavlenka, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Staromaiorske, Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.
ZAPORIZHZHIA AXIS: the invaders made unsuccessful assaults near Robotyne and west of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia oblast), where Ukrainian defenders 5 attacks. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novodarivka and Mala Tokmachka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). More than 20 settlements, including Temyrivka, Poltavka, Hulyaipole, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamyanske (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.
KHERSON AXIS: The settlement of Ivanivka, Bilozerka (Kherson oblast) and the city of Kherson suffered from enemy artillery shelling.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation on Melitopol axis and offensive (assault) operations on Bakhmut axis, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the enemy all along the front line.
During the day of November 16, Ukrainian Air Force launched 2 air strikes on concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers.
The Ukrainian missile troops hit 3 concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment, 6 artillery systems, 2 command posts and 2 ammunition depots of the russian invaders.
