IAF forces destroyed a large tunnel under Hamas headquarters with a "Sponge Bomb". The sponge bomb does not contain explosives. It works by combining two chemicals liquids. A foam-like, rapidly expanding substance, is formed and quickly sealed the tunnel entrance.
The biggest attack against Hezbollah in the Israel/Lebanon border took place. IAF forces carried out 1300 rocket, artillery and air strikes against all Hezbollah camps on the border. Fighter jets, drones, artillery, and rockets were involved. Major Hezbollah losses are projected.
I assume the sponge bombs are simple expanding foam. I used to use that to package electronics for international shipments. What prevents Hamas folks from simply cutting out the foam?
he is in the IAF
and he is kickin’ ass
The Headline is journo ignorance.
The article says “quickly sealed the tunnel entrance.”
The term Bomb is in my view a misnomer taken up by ignorant journalists who lack understanding of urethane foaming process. I believe the foam is some form of urethane that very quickly creates a closed cell foam blob that expands to fill an enclosed cavity
You can buy it in small cans at Lowes or Home Depot to foam up
and seal cracks and small openings
The use to seal tunnels is a brilliant use of materials
OH yes....... The Raptor You Tube Channel is in my view hands down the best reporting of the events in Gaza. They report at least twice a day
Isn't it temporary, can be drilled thru?
Commercially available urethane foam hardens enough to require jackhammering or painstaking manual hammering. There are also foams that are so sticky as to be impossible to quickly get disentangled from.
Yes, It can be removed with some effort. However taking it out of vertical shafts from below it going to be quite a task
I also read Sponge Bob
Sounds like this “sponge bomb” is only used to temporarily block the tunnel while other operations are conducted.
I doubt this harden foam will stop Hamas tunnelers from reopening the passages for long..
You know our military recruiting is bad when we cannot get Sponge Bob to
be on our team.
Congrats on on Israel on getting a great fighter on their team. Sounds like he is doing a good job.
My first thought.
I love at the end you just hear Squidward go “Ow!”
I blame it all on the Dalai Lama - and why did he want to kill all the golfers in the first place?
It’s apparently as hard as concrete.
Sponge Bob is probably cleaning up some of the sewage in the tunnels.
Hamas is in some deep DooDoo. Sewage in 20 tunnels.
