Great song.
CMA gone woke. Can you imagine the conversation in the CMA nominating session....I like that Luke Combs song fast car, I’m going to nominate it.
Yea, me too.
(liberal woman) Whaaaa,.. you cant do that.
Do what?
That song was originally sung by a black, female, non binary, trans immigrant, and we can’t give an award for that song to a white oppressor!
WHAT!
Are you effin serious?
That’s violence against me and people of non, trans, multi immigracial peoples.
OK, whatever karen.
Bob, just give it to her so she’ll shut up and quit making my head hurt.
Kind of sad that Country music is now about finding a rock song to do a cover of. Maybe they will do a DIO song next.
In any case the original of this song was much better. Now it is just another whiny country voice. The only good thing is that Tracy is getting some recognition for a great song.
I can’t listen to the new version....Tracy did it perfectly and there was no improving on it.....
I loved the original composed by Ms. Chapman in 1988, however.
I used to walk by Tracy singing in the subways all around Cambridge & Boston back in the day before she hit it big.
She was quite the street singer in her youth.
That is wonderful. The real artist is usually the last to get paid, after the agents, the managers, the label, the cover group, etc. Hope she has more songs in her.
I saw photos at the Daily Mail website (british paper). The CMA show had many weird looking people there. Two people with face tattoos. Others with arm and neck tattoos.
They did not have any current photo of Carrie Underwood who was nominated for 1 song. I guess because of the plastic surgery and steroids that she is too weird looking now.
I always thought the song was a rip off of John Mellencamp’s Jack & Diane. He probably didn’t go after her back then for various reasons. He would’ve looked bad if he did since everyone at the time thought it was the greatest thing ever.
Did Jack & Diane have a fast car?
