That’s a fact.

And the nuclear family of mom, dad and kids doesn’t last that long. It takes about 25 years for the kids to grow up and leave home, after which mom and dad are empty nesters for another 25 years.

1. Democrat big government. They raised taxes so high so quickly it became imperative to have two incomes to have a modest middle-class life. Thank you Income Tax, FDR, LBJ, etc.

What prompted mom to have to work was inflation caused in part by the Arab Oil Embargo of 1973.

Also, don't overlook the so called women's lib movement and its impact on families.

That’s an interesting point about the increased supply of labor putting downward pressure on wages necessitating those two incomes. I had not thought about that.

You have to go back to the 19th amendment. Now women can vote. Eventually, they want to get jobs. In turn, that depressed the wages so it makes it more expensive to raise a family on a single income.

Pretty much socially, there isn’t much difference between Latinos and whites. The urban ones are liberal, and the rural ones are conservative.

The Hispanics aren't woke. If they are Democrats, they tend to be working class. The Democrats bribe them with free stuff. But the Hispanics dislike the Blacks and the woke stuff.

So this is why you see the GOP making some real progress with the Hispanics everywhere (outside of California)

I’m not MGTOW by the way. I don’t even qualify in so many ways. I’m just pointing out a trend.

Men Going Their Own Way.

I am not part of it. Just pointing out a trend. There is a ton of information about it online. If you are interested.

Good points.

1. Inflation was largely cause by GOVERNMENT via the creation of the fed, fiat money, and the abandoning of the gold standard. The purchasing power of the dollar is 1/33 of what it was when the fed was created. Inflation started taking off after the 1950s when the pols really understood how to buy votes with our money. Now we have a $34 trillion national debt. The Arab Oil Embargo hurt, but it really was a small inflationary blip compared to horrendous government monetary policy.

2. Women’s lib movement and its impact on families. — Indeed. Probably nothing contributed to that more than the invention of “the pill.”

3. Add to that the horrendous “counter culture” that bloomed in the 60s and was largely triggered by the Vietnam war (even though the “beat generation” had started in the early 50s).

4. Of course, bad SCOTUS decisions that removed the Ten Commandments and God from our schools really hurt, too.

5. Can’t forget the “Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965” which destroyed the prior centuries-old solid cultural Judeo-Christian underpinnings and work ethic.

6. Plus, Democrat welfare created incentives for “families” to have absent dads.

There were many forces aligned against traditionalism. Combined, these have been horribly destructive to families. It’s amazing that all of these hostile forces arose almost simultaneously over a short period of just over 100 years.

First off: Business Insider is not about business at all, it's a socialist/communist propaganda site worm into the mainstream hiding under a pseudonym. Do not be fooled otherwise.

The actual destruction of the nuclear family started with Ted Kennedy's Immigration Act of 1965 that erased rational standards qualifying for admittance, allowing legions of third-world savages in to replace low-wage citizens who dared asking for living wages.

Combined with fellow rat Johnson's Civil Rights Act ("Great Society") that knifed black families through the heart by replacing parentage with government checks these policies have slowly yet certainly reduced America's greatness to the point we now have to not only worry about formerly minor enemies nipping at our heels (billions of arms left to Islamist fanatics, Biden. Really?); we have to deal with how our traitors like Clinton and the Bush's allowed our manufacturing bases be relocated out of country for marginal profits while that cost our nation terribly.

Most preposterous is how these avaricious idiots are demanding we sacrifice the ocean of God-given oil flowing under us for the totally fiction of "clean energy" provided by still-massively-inefficient solar and very efficient animal-killing windmills (efficient killing animals. The poorly made giant fans are falling apart with no known ways to re-use their parts.).

As much as I admire Elon Musk for seemingly speaking up for the powerless I have to call him out for electric cars requiring their own fire department using batteries draining rare minerals dug up by young near slaves in countries needing far better direction for better futures.

If America is to survive we have to do better NOW. Home school. Reject woke idiocy. Elect worthy representatives. Get back to God.

All good points. It's good to have a working knowledge of history like this to see the trends and how they impact events.

I do think the 73 Oil Embargo and the subsequent oil shocks of the late 70s were huge as petroleum is the basis for so many things in this country.

You and a lot of others may not like what that movement stands for and I pointed out in another response I do not even qualify for it but I doubt a growing number of men are going to take seriously accusations that that movement is harmful until the family court systems are reformed so that women are not walking out on marriages with half of everything a guy owns plus his children and considering women file 70% or more of the divorce cases.

In short, those guys will sumply point out for too many women their decision to get married is just nothing more than a personal business decision.

Bringing in more immigrants is the problem not the solution. That is why California is lost, and Texas is tipping.

Another demoralizing moniker: “nuclear” family. Any votes for “natural family”? or “triune family”? Can I get a vote on the committee? And then there's that thing called “safe” sex. That's what it must be because, you know, it's unsafe to begin with, and if you want to be nuclear free, you need masks for protection.
