Dick Vermeil cried at the drop of a hanky. He still did a fine job coaching the Eagles, Rams, and Chiefs. The question for Caleb Williams is, can he contain himself on the field and save the waterworks for after the game?

"He needs his mama."
Great choice of pics. Of course, the man who needs his mama winds up throwing acid in Yul Brynner's face.

Justin Fields is in his third season with the Chicago Bears and his track record so far is a good indication of what to expect from Caleb Williams; personal stats, which his fan club are convinced show him to be the next coming of Tom Brady and Dan Marino, minus a lot of sacks and interceptions. And a won-lost record of 5-26.
Like I said, his fan club loves him, and they are convinced he will win every Super Bowl until the trophy name is changed from Lombardi to Fields.
Other people in Chicago are looking forward to the day when Justin Fields is discussed in the past tense, along with Doug Flutie, Virgil Carter, that slash back guy who busted with the Steelers but the Bears thought he was the answer, and so on.
Fields finally got hurt and his replacement, an undrafted QB from a small school, is 2-1 since the Fields injury.
Caleb looks like another Fields.

Also, Justin Fields is on a terrible team.
If Tom Brady had been on the Houston Texans team that David Carr was on, do you think he would have ever become a good QB, running for his life, getting sacked 76 times in a year?

Mark Sanchez... Matt Cassell... Matt Barkley... Cody Kessler...
The track record is not even mixed, it's just bad.

On the other hand, CJ Stroud already looks like a Hall Of Famer.

They already do — it’s called the pocket. Can’t touch a QB there anymore. God forbid you “sack” him, make sure it’s gently and don’t fall on him. Or get a major penalty and give the QB a first down

7-3 record, unranked team. why would this guy be a top draft pick? What has he done to warrant that kind of interest?
To: nickcarraway
Watched that game and was put off by his weeping in mommy’s arms, and I’m a woman.
To: Rummyfan
Reminds me a lot of Darnold. Thought he should have been the #1 draft pick, and said so. Spare me the “special, can’t miss” kids.

It’s always a crapshoot. Back in the day I thought Ryan Leaf would be the better pro quarterback than Peyton Manning. So did the Chargers.
