I couldn’t remember if Trump pushed for her as well and just found out he had. Bad choice!
Your comments reflect my fears about Vivek. He says great things I totally agree with in a witty, sharp manner. However how committed he is to what he says is an unknown. On the other hand, I felt exactly the same about Trump in 2015-2016. It was what Trump did when he got into office that convinced me of Trump’s sincerity.
Trump loved telling the story of Ronna McDaniel when she insisted that he come back to Michigan for one last rally in 2016 after he had already done several that day. She had lots of people there very late into the night. I can understand why he supported her for RNC chair since he thought she had done a great job in Michigan.
IMHO she is an example of the Peter principle, elevated to the level of her incompetence, demonstrated in the 2018 election losses. She has since gone from incompetence to collusion with the GOPe.
Trump refused to give up his joy in that story for a long time though I have not heard it lately. Hopefully by now, he realizes that she is not working for conservative Republicans or for MAGA
Has Trump been perfect? The answer is no, without question. But then again he is fighting a leviathan, which is not only unprecedented, but is a task that has no guide posts to assist with that battle. It's akin to battling actual aliens from outer space. It has never been done before, so there are many unknowns as to their strengths & capabilities. But I know he has the fortitude to carry out the battle. I pray that he is successful, and I also pray for the Lord to give me guidance to assist him in this important battle of good vs evil.
Original comment: "Trump could recommend her, and support her, but he doesn't get to put her in the post, and he doesn't get to vote."
The GOP-E blames all of those losses on Trump - they couldn't possibly have anything to do with the GOP-E's total lack of a coherent philosophy. /s
“So-called “tradition” can be broken at any time. “
Yeah, but it wasn’t.
Republicans are wise aren't they? They'll follow "tradition" to keep a loser Chairwoman in office, but won't follow "tradition" on more important issues...like supporting each other on voting against appropriations Bills that are loaded with useless Democrat projects, or not stabbing the people who put them into office, in the back. The GOP, GOPe, and RNC are useless entities. They can't and won't clean themselves up.
I kind of agree with that. He is also very smart. He did say what people wanted to hear and he stole the show.
He hasn’t been around enough to prove who he really is. But I got a kick out of him throwing a grenade in the middle of that contrived clown show.

In fact, I doubted Trump too when he first announced his candidacy, for I really knew nothing about him. The difference was that he was the first to speak the truth, with little regard for how the truth was received. I finally decided I liked what he said, so I will take a chance with him.
“Republicans are wise aren’t they? They’ll follow “tradition” to keep a loser Chairwoman in office”
Wrong. The tradition is to let a newly elected president choose the chairman. Romney has had to win election since Trump made her brilliant appointment. Trump is too big a chicken to go against her, I guess. Or too big an ego to admit a mistake?
Trump hasn't been a newly elected President since 2016, and he's been out of office going on three years now, so the people on the Committee that elected her again in January 2023, didn't have to follow any tradition. I believe these are the current people who vote to elect the RNC Chairman:
