... you might find that when you are older you have fewer problems than other people your age or even people you know who are younger than you.

No doubt, but OTOH, I have a mouth full of ( permanent ) hardware ... ( i.e. no dentures ) which have endured for some decades, now.

That includes bridges and implants.

I gotta figure that's gonna be it.

That's contingent upon my "mouthguard" ( whatever it's called ) ... i.e. mouthpiece ( like an athletic mouthpiece, except custom molded and rigid ) which I wear at night.

As you might guess, I've got one hell of a bite!

Anyway, God Bless Dentistry.

I’m glad that modern hardware is working out for you! I also have some medical-related things that have helped me that were not available 50 years ago. As I am slouching towards old age, I find I have done real well in some things, kind of poorly in other things.

I was reacting to the article and people who have said to me, “I was eating [soft food because it is all they can eat] and a tooth fell out” like it is a rather normal thing. I think that is a high price to pay for years of enjoying soft drinks and too much candy when really being just moderate about such things would have helped a lot.
