Gmail has gotten to the point that it regularly locks me out of my accounts for a week or more.
Im tired of them using phony security concerns to track my location, accounts, devices, etc.
Looking for free accounts for personal use.
Interested in hearing about your experience using other emails, both the pros and cons.
What are your suggestions?
I had some old lycos accounts but after they deleted those accounts without warning to switch to a pay per account system I wouldnt trust them with a paid account either.
I really havent tried much else in 20+ years, how about you?
“Free” means YOU are paying with YOUR INFO
proton mail
Get the email your ISP provides. If you pay for internet service then you have an expectation of privacy with that email.

Nothing is hidden. Dont think for a moment anything online is secure.
I use proton. It doesn’t work with my outlook mail on desktop.
Not impressed
I found I could not even setup proton. Too many hurdles there.
I’ve had the same yahoo email for over 20 years now... never had an issue
Protonmail?
Just assume that nothing is safe, and don’t ever write anything online anywhere that you would not be willing to shout from a soapbox downtown Square
Protonmail is encrypted and there is a first-tier free version.
They cannot scan your email because they don’t have the key.
I have been using it for a few years, gradually moving my email addresses from yahoo and gmail to protonmail.
I think I am going to complete the switchover ASAP.
Proton Mail does work with Outlook if you take the time and effort to configure...

Agree with this. Few years ago yahoo locked out everyone from their email accounts and forced users to accept some legalese that stated they could have access to emails.
Anyway, whether true or not( I don’t speak lawyer) I never do online banking or anything medical via any portals. Granted probably not any safer but I like the old ways.
I use it. The guys who created it used to work at CERN.
I use proton for VPN as well.
