Seven children destroyed a couple's six-bedroom home using chainsaws, axes, and sledgehammers to smash their antiques and even ruin the victim's wedding dress, a UK court heard last month.
The group took the tools from the owners' garage and embarked on their monthlong vandalism spree in May last year, causing £300,000 ($371,000) in damages to the £1.2 million ($1.5 million) property on the Isle of Wight while the homeowners were away, local news outlet Island Echo reported.
The youths, aged as young as 11 years old, destroyed paintings, a stained-glass window, a chandelier, and a grandfather clock and had sprayed bleach, oil paint, creosote, and ketchup throughout the house
Water had gushed across the bathroom after taps were ripped off, and the group had fashioned a "slip and slide" on the floor. Mahogany window sills had been carved into, and graffiti was daubed on the walls
The court also heard that they had used the couple's tools to chop down a palm tree and had attempted to set a tractor mower on fire
"It is mindless and looks like a whirlwind has been through the property," the homeowner Joanne Pittard said... "We are horrified at the evil vandalism and attempts at arson at our property. It will take a long time to recover financially and emotionally from this event."
The seven youths, who were aged between 11 and 15 at the time...
Six were ordered to pay £1,500, or just over $1,800, in compensation and given a 12-month referral order. In this UK community sentence, young offenders work with a community panel and agree on a contract to address their behavior... The seventh teenager is due for sentencing later this month.

And then send the youths to juvenile hall, where they belong.
I’d say imports.
Those Amish children can be so destructive with their chainsaws. Boys will be boys. S/
The home owners are partly responsible .Failure to assess the neighborhood that has a population of feral youths and protecting your property when away for an extended period of time. Alarm system, cameras, or a house sitter would have prevented the carnage on such a nice property.
And make the prison sentences very long.
Agree
They have to pay 1500? Have a heart. Do they know how much and many times the kids have to shoplift to raise that much?
A Clockwork Orange.
Its hard to believe but its probably true. You wouldnt think that children that old would be so gullible but, as the person who owns the local “haunted house”, Im absolutely astonished at the number of adults that have admitted to being afraid of entering the property. Maybe that isnt an entirely bad thing.
Then again, Ive interacted with a couple of posters around here that would probably lead their children against my house in an attempt to rid the world of “demonic infestation” lest it hitch a ride on a manure truck to their house.
If owner was home should have said “I feared for my life when approached with a chain saw so I used deadly force to stop attack” Sorry about that ... nothing to see ... just move on
All suffering from plandemia.
My first thought as well. All the coastlines exposed to the south and east are vulnerable. There are major “refugee” encampments all around Calais, France. Also, Southhampton/Portsmouth just north of Isle of Wight is a major hub, with plenty of transportation to London and elsewhere.
The link to the father’s comments in post 34 says he works in a grocery and also receives “benefits.” He says that if he bumped into the victims, he would apologize; but he doesn’t know why his son doesn’t apologize. I see three things wrong with these statememts.
What a spineless, useless piece of trash.
"Estate" doesn't mean the same thing there as it does here. It's roughly what we would call a "housing development" or even "the projects", depending how many of the residents are on welfare. The units can be as small as narrow, 2-story row houses.
The linked article has an embedded link to the local (Isle of Wight, UK) news story.
The owners were away on an extended vacation (about a month). They were alerted by their lawn care service that”there might be some damage.” The couple returned the next day and found the youths (13,14,15, and 16 YO) still going at it, etc.
A lot of negative comments on the UK newspaper website.
Most likely WELFARE BRATS who wants to DESTROY EVERYTHING GOOD.
