I tried to take a selfie with a deer in the wild — I ended up with multiple broken ribs

He got a lot of bang for his buck — and not in a good way.

A tourist’s attempt to photograph a deer ended painfully after the critter rammed him and broke his ribs, as seen in a wince-worthy video blowing up online.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Gian Carlo Triacca, 42, told Caters News Service of the attack, which occurred while he and his wife, Erika, 40, were vacationing in Greece. The couple, who hail from Cancun, Mexico, had reportedly been entranced by a menagerie of beasts seen where they were on holiday.

Look again. He was trying the selfie, but the deer wasn’t cooperative.

It’s a picture of an attempted selfie...

2nd iteration of stupid.

Now I’m stupid too.
Stay away it’s contagious...

So, not a selfie.

The grammar and syntax are fine. The wife's photo shows his phone is airborne during selfie interruptus.

Some people you can tell and others just have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.

“I’m shocked.”

I rode a bull once...once.

I saw a girl get kicked in the forehead while next to a horse.

Humans are super weak and slow.

The last time I took a selfie with a deer I did it after the deer was field dressed.

And, then you took it to dinner, right?

I could believe it.

Wild animals are, well, wild.

Take a selfie with them at your own risk.

My wife operated a wildlife rescue in north Idaho for 15 years. Whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, and moose babies. They’re safe for the first 3 months or so but after that they can get pretty crazy. Once the males start to get testosterone poisoning they get unpredictable. Some of them stay pretty sweet but I never trusted them.

That’s a much cooler photo than the selfie would have been. :)

I got a broken rib while on active duty. I was given Ibuprofen, given 48 hours quarters, and had to go back to duty....

Sounds like standard treatment. A thousand years ago, they used to bind the chest for rib fractures. Unless a rib punctured your lung, today you today might get an incentive spirometer to encourage deep breathing. Maybe.

I was just looking up spotted deer. Common in the Indian subcontinent and throughout Europe. Adults have spots.

Indeed, a huge rack on such a small deer. The guy is lucky he got a head-butt instead of punctures from that rack.

It’s said that stupid should hurt.

I guess, in this case, it did.
