Last year I attended a Pat Metheny concert which began around 8pm. He said he always performs on an emptyish stomach and eats later, says it makes him perform better.
Squats and push ups (strengthen arms/legs) are the two exercises that Jack LaLanne said would enable you too pick yourself up, from the floor/a fall.
Get busy, folks!
There’s a line in Weird Al Yankovic’s song “Midnight Star” (a song about tabloids) that goes “Eat jelly donuts and lose twenty pounds a day”.
I do squats in the Gym with a 10 lb kettleball, 30 reps. I have a fully replaced left knee, not an issue.
I am not sure what your financial situation is, but I determined I would never use a gym membership, but if I paid a personal trainer to come to my house, I would actually open the door and work out with them :)
It can be much cheaper than you think for a trainer, maybe less than a gym membership
My nephrologist pursuaded me to get a Pro-Form bike with the IFit app video trainers. It’s been pretty addicting as it’s fun to “ride the world”. I’ve done 5 continents and 30 countries in just two months already. Never knew Croatia was so beautiful.
Yep. About the only 10 min workout that would have even a modicum of efficacy would be 50 yard sprint intervals with 15-20 seconds of rest.
A better exercise is to practice pushing yourself back from the table.
Awww man....GMTA!
“It’s like you’re dreaming about Gorgonzola Cheese, when it’s clearly Brie Time, baby!”
“About the only 10 min workout that would have even a modicum of efficacy would be 50 yard sprint intervals with 15-20 seconds of rest.”
Yeah, probably. A sprint every 30 seconds.
Very few could do that classic football drill and live through it. And it still would not address upper body unless you added push-ups in the rest period like coach Poddig did.
He liked to make everyone puke in 100 deg heat.
I have thought about that...when I retire
I’ve still got the original equipment, just without the cartilage. Had hip replacement too, can you do squats with one of those?? Guess I’d have to ask the doc about that
Describe sissy squats for me please
I have a Pro Form treadmill and an Ifit membership came with it. Very enjoyable while getting some exercise
Exercise is great for lots of reasons, but the phrase “diet and exercise is the key to weight loss” is highly misleading. It’s like 90/10. You can’t exercise your way out of a bad diet.
Yep. I do sprints but rest 30 seconds to 1 min depending. I also don’t cram it into 10 mins! I think they key is I never really stopped doing them from HS football! I did give up running a few years though as I could start to feel it slightly in my knees and now focus all my steady state cardio on rucking, which I’ve also done for many years… combined with weights 3-4 days a week and clean diet, I’d probably kick my 25 year old self’s ass (def just as strong now as I was then in the weight room).
The only sprinting benefit you’re gonna get upper body is the extreme flex when you’re sprinting. Same for core. Of course the HGH and T production is beneficial as well. My point is, if I only had 1 workout I could do for 10 mins. That’d be it, though it’s totally full of holes stand-alone.
Exercise is not the real way to lose weight. It sure can help.
Eating only once a day is powerful all by itself. Especially if the carbohydrates are reduced.
