I remember as a little kid in catholic school, earliest 55-58-ish; that palestine was a place on the map and nobody questioned it... and that was only a few years after the fact.
The Balfour letter specifically mentions palestine twice and puts what became Israel, as it was establish at the time, in a specific place in palestine.
