I feel like such an old idiot.
I put out dishes of red wine, white wine, blush wine, beer, and I can’t figure out why they’re multiplying. Duh.

Thanks for that info, s&s.....
I’ve been putting out alcohol for them and wondering why they are proliferating.
I had them in the bathroom, so I filled the sink half full and dumped a pile of Mr. Clean in there overnight - seems to have helped.
I’m going to do the bleach and Mr. Clean thing tonight with the kitchen sinks.
I have never seen this before! In all my years, I’ve never had such a persistent visitation of fruit flies. Is it because they feel emboldened with the 2SLGBTQ thing?

Yes, Spunky.
I did the soap thing. And the wrap thing with the holes. It did attract a lot of them, but seemed to increase their numbers two-fold on the outside!
I’m trying to drown them, but I’m thinking it might be a whole lot easier to drown myself and be done with it.

I also discovered they were breeding in the crevices of our wood floors. I used a Bissel floor cleaner with water and white vinegar. It helped.
Make sure they’re not in your upholstered furniture.

If Mr. Clean doesn’t do the trick, pour drain cleaner down your sinks. Apparently, fruit flies, gnats accumulate in the curve of the pipe and feed off of hair, etc. that collects there.

That’ll be next. I’ll see how the Mr. Clean sitting all night does.
I may just move out for a few days, freeze everything, then come back. It’s not like my house plants are thriving.
