Research teams harm songbirds.
Windmills are quiet.
Do they harm any birds?
$900K of our tax dollars down the toilet.NSF is a giant welfare program for useless researchers. So what if they find that these activities mess with birds? Are they going to stop them?
They’ll decide it does because any excuse to shut down oil production will do.
I worked at an outdoor shooting range here and the birds adapted fine to the noise, including on the shotgun range where both ravens and owls nested within 20 yards (behind) the shooting position on station 3. Had plenty of hawks and falcons, when the draininge ponds were full ducks, sandhill cranes, and once a blue heron.
Hey jerks, how about do a study of all the birds including endangered species such as eagles killed by “green” wind farms? Oh sorry, no grant money for that and does not fit you paid-for meme, ya bunch of frauds.
Californians harm the rest of the USA (very few exceptions).
My comments esp. “jerks” obviously were not directed toward you, CedarDave.
An oil field is essentially a large wildlife refuge. No hunting allowed, and aside from the roads and drill pads, there are no people.
“These researchers want to know”
No they don’t. They want to make it up. We all know what “results” they will find.
I’m pretty sure they would fly away if they were bothered.
This is how the new stalinists shut down oil drilling.
I once drove late at night, under a full moon, from Tuba City to Gallup. It was a beautiful, haunting experience.
Lessee... Songbirds don’t have leases/mortgages to tie them down and they do have a readily available means of transportation; so, I’m guessin’ they would just move to another neighborhood if lights and noise bothered them at night.
“We’ll shut those oilfields down yet!”
My research shows that researchers are killing the birds by tromping around their habitat and spilling soy lattes everywhere.
They’re doing their best to help their Iranian masters and shut down domestic oil production.
I have a number of wells east of Roswell and plenty of infield, proven, drilling II could do, but it’s all held by production so I let it sit their and drill in Texas where the government is actually helpful and not just trying to shutnthjbfs down or figure out a fine.
They don’t care about the birds, only about stopping oil production.
We discovered an abandoned gold mine on our property and found there was still lots of gold yet to be extracted. Some was sticking out of the cave walls. But I boarded it off because I like feeding humming birds and don’t want to intrude on their delicate senses.
