Calling all FR Prayer warriors....
.... dear DollyCali is scheduled for surgery on the morning of Friday, Oct 27th.
She needs our prayers for a successful surgery, for her docs/nurses and healthcare team, and, for a speedy recovery.
She has been dealing with this issue, for some time, and, can now have the necessary surgery to hopefully bring her back to good health.
Dolly's message, "I am due for surgery on Friday for an ongoing condition it’s basically a hiatal hernia that’s gone very very bad. My entire digestive system is up wrapped around my lungs and heart so that’s got to be corrected. I cannot walk two or 3 feet without gasping for breath. So if I come through the surgery hopefully my health will be a little bit better in this regard."
Please join in prayer, for dear DollyCali!
Wouldn’t Dolly be eligible for VNA assistance?
Our state has government buses that transport people too for a nominal fee.
Our state provides much of this, for free.
I hope she can at least get orders for home health, for a week.
🙏🏻
Meant to ping you to 179.
You may know this, already, directly, from Dolly.
Yes, she is sending same messages to everyone.
Thank you

Home sweet home ….
Good morning. Had first good night of sleep since last Thurs. Just up twice briefly to do a potty run. Crush n take Oxycodin. Turn heating pad back on.
Got home about 3 PM hospital arranged ride ended up being a Uber.
Son was asleep on sofa n so got all my things in alone. Didn’t take me long to get under covers and was very quickly in dreamland.
The surgery went well Doc said. Robotic, 2 surgeons. 7 hrs. They begin by inserting gas in thoracic, abdominal and pelvic cavities so they have room to work. They clipped pulled relocated the digestive tract n attached it to the abdominal walls. 7 incisions. Tightened the diaphragm opening n further tightened it with mesh.
Pain level been pretty high. Gas in body- not gastric. And the normal you’d have from cutting, shuffling around body parts and slips.
No sleep first two days post surgery. The gas being pain problem. After one week w/o pain meds my back was singing quite enthusiastically. It wasn’t a gentle ballad either,
Not much appetite but did try a tad of all food delivered. I had one of two things on my tray - grits or tomato soup. Yummy gourmet in my mind. Boring and tasteless in reality
Lots of little things could add but this is good overview of past week
Thanks for your concern n prayers. And thanks Sweet Jane for the prayer thread❤️ Will post this note both there and on Train.
So glad to hear from you, Dolly! And happy to hear you are home and on the mend. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
You have many FRiends here who have been praying for you. May God continue to bless you. 😊❤️

Update from Dolly! See #189
Keep moving to dissipate that nasty leftover gas and to keep your lungs working. May God continue to bless you, Dolly!
I wouldn’t think that yours was in any way some normal everyday surgery. That sounds more like a history lesson in surgical technique that someone is responsible for whose story would be of great interest. How far downstream your surgery is from the one who pioneered it, would also be of interest if that was even discussed as you were pondering the need for surgical intervention.
Glad you are in the recovery phase and doing well all things considered. The couch sleeping son didn’t get the story it might have deserved for we on the outside looking through the tinted window. Welcome home.
Yay! The patient has checked in!
So thankful you are home, and, getting settled in.
Prayers continuing for your complete and speedy recovery, dear Dolly . 🙏🏻
All praise to God.
Glad to hear good news.
More prayers up for improvement day by day.
Prayers up. God bless.
Thank you Lord for answering our prayers, for today we’ve learned that your child Dolly is home recuperating. Please Lord continue to uphold her and heal her body and take away her pain. We pray in the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
FReepers are a golden resource - prayers, support, advice. None better, like a good church!
God bless, Dolly; we 'veterans' are still covering the back door. 😌 ❤
Yikes! I meant to add: southerners know how to make grits enjoyable! 😄
