Malicious Mitt Romney - Au revoir, Pierre Delecto…Don’t let the door hit you on the way out
American Greatness ^ | 20 Oct, 2023 | Steve Cortes

Posted on 10/22/2023 6:06:40 AM PDT by MtnClimber

Throughout his unremarkable political career, Mitt Romney carefully cultivated the image of the ultimate “nice guy.” Handsome and credentialed, Romney presents himself as some sort of perfect, milquetoast functionary. Governor Romney, then Senator Romney – the perfectly unexceptional, inoffensive face to serve as advocate for Ruling Class prerogatives.

But in these late innings of his public life, Mitt shows his inner malice. In his quotes provided to biographer McKay Coppins for a new book on Romney, Mitt finally went on-the-record to express his disdain for people he publicly flattered, and his revulsion for the conservative movement he supposedly represented.

Romney failed miserably in 2012, when America badly needed a political street fighter to save the country from a second Obama term. Instead, we got a soulless corporate automaton, conjoined with an equally feckless junior version of Mitt, running mate Paul Ryan. For Romney, it seems that botched run still haunts this bitter man as he heads to an ignoble retirement rather than confront angry voters in the 2024 GOP primary.

But, wonder of wonders, suddenly lame-duck Mitt has found some spirit, albeit on his way out the door. Now that he is leaving politics, he has plenty to say. It’s a lot like a pretend pugilist who talks tough only after the potential combatants are safely separated.

Here is a sampler platter of the serious barbs Romney throws at key elected officials on the Right:

Ron DeSantis: “no warmth at all…an authoritarian…there’s a peril to having someone who’s smart and pulling in a direction that’s dangerous”

Rick Perry: “Republicans must realize that we have to have someone who can complete a sentence”

Newt Gingrich: “A smug know-it-all, smarmy, and too pleased with himself”

JD Vance: “I don’t know that I can disrespect someone more.”

All these leaders should wear “Pierre’s” scorn as a badge of honor, particularly since malicious Mitt was too cowardly to make such statements except in his swan song, on his way out of office.

A political eunuch, Romney was at least consistent in his constant efforts to swim with the perceived public current of popularity. Mitt always catered to “the current thing.”

Back in 2020, when the BLM riots tore America’s cities asunder, laying waste to neighborhoods, bringing violence to police nationwide, and causing billions of dollars in property damage, Mitt Romney put on his useless Fauci mask and proudly pranced with the radicals. The same leftists, incidentally, who boasted that they are “trained Marxists” and advocate for the dissolution of the nuclear family in America.

So, goodbye/au revoir not just to Mitt, but also to the cabal he represents. America increasingly slides into oligarchy, as statist globalists continue to vaporize U.S. sovereignty and destroy the prosperity of middle class citizens.

Our cause will be far better off without the Romneys of the world, who pine for the politics of accommodation and advocate for places like Davos, Beijing, and Kiev…rather than the main streets of Utah.

When Romney won the first debate against Obama in 2012 and subsequently (and quite obviously) gave up and lost graciously, that was it for me. Trump shocked the world in 2016 but he was and is clearly not a member of the same party as Romney.

Our cause?

Who is Steve Cortes trying to fool wit that line?

You have no real cause Steve Cortes. You left our cause for greener pastures, but found they weren't as green as you had perceived. Now you are trying to erase that to be welcomed back into the fold. It doesn't work that way Steve, sorry.

It’s all relative. The man and woman discussed in this 1992 tongue bath article were routinely characterized in the press as being attractive. The woman in particular is referred to as still retaining “…traces of the sweet engenue smile”
she had in college
