Ivermectin is a widely used antiparasitic drug that has been associated with adverse effects on the gut microbiome and the liver. Recent studies have suggested that ivermectin-induced bacterial gut dysbiosis may exacerbate liver damage by promoting gut inflammation and increasing the levels of inflammatory cytokines in the liver.
These findings highlight the need for further research to understand the mechanisms underlying the adverse effects of ivermectin and to develop strategies to mitigate these effects.
I dunno. This may be more anti-ivermectin chaff. You should know, however, that niacin advocate Dr. Kats also advocates strongly against ivermectin, and regularly shares articles where people and animals have had serious side-effects from it. I took it myself for COVID prevention and have seen it cure "COVID" in people, but I've been depending strictly on niacin (and adjuncts) for the last couple of years.

Ivermectin is the primary ingredient in canine heartworm medication. Check your dog’s rx label for proof.
I dropped the expensive harmaceutical Rx for Ivermectin, which I administer, for my dog over two years ago and it costs next to nothing. Zero, negative reactions.
Isn’t it odd that the vet only gives a six month supply, requiring TWO vet office visits each year and the associated office visit charge for the harmaceutical stuff?
People are waking up to the doktor scams!

I really need to finally take the time to look more closely at niacin. Maybe it would help.
