I am NOT a believer in Kondratiev wave theory. I think he equated correlation with causality.

China used industrialization and free-trade, guaranteed by the US Navy, to launch itself from agrarian poverty to super-power status in less than a lifetime. What they DIDN'T do was account for the changes that would occur as a result of this.

Mao was worried, rightfully at the time, that the Chinese would eat themselves to death through over population. This idea was borne out by Chinese history which is replete with cycles of population boom and bust. What he didn't understand was that when you move from the field to the factory you go from children being free labor to being expensive, noisy furniture in a crowded apartment. Thus was born the "One Child Policy" and the root cause of China's impending demographic apocalypse.

Their political ideology blinded them to what industrialization has to create. That is, a stable consumer driven economy. A communist autocracy can't allow this degree of power outside of their control. Instead they prioritized the investment lead creation of industrial production capacity, whether needed or not, and infrastructure (housing, roads, rail, etc), whether needed or not.

The great limitation to industrialization and building infrastructure is that you only get to do it ONCE. When you're done, you're DONE. Well, the CCP missed the "done" message. As a result they are left with at least a 100% SURPLUS of unoccupied housing to serve a shrinking population.

COVID, while bad enough for the average Chinese, only highlighted the problem with Chinese industry. Due to wage increases over the past ten years, China is now no longer the low cost producer of ANYTHING. With the COVID lock downs China demonstrated that it was also no longer a reliable production source. Why build your stuff in China when you can make it cheaper and more reliably somewhere else?

With the ongoing loss of its export markets, China is left with nowhere to turn to sell its goods. They missed the chance to build a thriving domestic consumer market. With a shrinking population base it is too late to build one now even if their political system could accommodate one.

So exactly what is going to happen in China? If I knew that with any degree of certainty we could all get rich. I do think the PRC economy is headed for collapse and at least a ten year depression. I don't think the CCP can survive this and remain in power. They are going out. The big question is whether it is with a bang, French Revolution style, or with a whimper, Japanese 1980s style.

The Radical Left Judge who should not be handling the FAKE & FULLY DISCREDITED CASE brought against me by the New York State A.G. (It should be handled by the Commercial Division, but should never have been brought!), fined me $10,000 yesterday under his so-called gag order. He is a judge that found me GUILTY before the trial even started, and long before he had the real facts, like Michael Cohen collapsing and choking yesterday under cross examination, and completely admitting that I did nothing wrong. He committed MASSIVE PERJURY, at a level seldom seen on the stand before. It was like watching the end of the best Petty Mason episode, where the defendant breaks down and cries, “Yes, I did it, I did it, I did it.” This case should be ended, NOW, but this Judge and his “boss,” Letitia Peekaboo James, will never let that happen. He even refuses to accept our big win in the Appeals Court. It is a disgrace to the legal system in the State of New York. This is a RIGGED CASE!

The Attorney General case against me in New York State just lost its STAR witness, SleazeBag former attorney Michael Cohen (he was disbarred for lying, and more!), who admitted to lying in this case and clearly stated that I did nothing wrong. A half century or so , ago, I worked on a high pressure air conversion for an M-1 Carbine. I had 3,000 psi air to work with and the whole thing was quite effective, especially on the noise side.

A bit of research turned up that there was sort of a gentleman’s agreement with the Fedz, in the years the 1968 GCA was being formulated, That they would not include air guns in the rules as long as they stayed relatively low powered and/or specialized. Divers might remember that US Divers had a super neat HP Air powered spear gun?

I decided I was a bit ahead of my time, shelved the project, parts of which are still laying around here, and let someone else pick up the slack. I would caution the current HP Air officianados to avoid getting too far out over their skis.

LOL, my baby brother shot our mom in the butt when he got his. We got the bb rifles first to prove we were responsible before we got our first .22 rifle. He failed. Even the girls got .22 rifles and were taught to shoot when we turned 12. Dad wanted all five of us to be good shots and safe.

My husband’s pellet rifle is the .177 pump. Mine use the CO2 cartridges.

Just in case you can’t get satisfaction from the US military, maybe consider rounding up some veterans who would volunteer as an honor guard. I think most would step up for a fellow vet. Maybe they would be a little ragtag and maybe they would not be in uniform, but they would have the spirit.
