[Satire:] Judge Awards Riley Gaines $8 Million In Whoopi Defamation Case: “You Should Have Asked For More”

Riley Gaines was robbed of a moment she’ll never get back when Lia Thomas crossed that finish line just ahead of her. She forever became the girl who lost rather than the star who won, as God intended.

While that was bad enough, it paled in comparison to the horrible things Whoopi Goldberg said about her live on national television.

“She can’t swim,” said Goldberg, “what kind of petulant child puts up two years’ worth of fights to solidify a 5th-place tie? Get a job.”

Gaines is likely to continue with her activism, announcing that she’s once again foregoing dental school for a lucrative career as a political pundit.

According to ALLOD Legal Analyzer Tara Newhole, Gaines will likely never amount to much else. “She’s angry and not quite good enough to continue competitive swimming,” said Newhole, “so this is a perfect career choice.”

There is nothing in there about the judge or the money.

“Just under 70% of African-American children surveyed said they had no or low ability to swim. Low ability merely meant they were able to splash around in the shallow end. A further 12% said they could swim but had “taught themselves”.

The study found 58% of Hispanic children had no or low swimming ability. For white children, the figure was only 42%.

“It is an epidemic that is almost going unnoticed,” says Sue Anderson, director of programmes and services at USA Swimming.

The swimming body would like all children to be taught to swim.”

I was in USMC boot camp in 1977. There was an exercise where you had to jump into the deep end of a pool wearing a heavy backpack. You had to remove your backpack while in the water so it wouldn’t pull you under. IIRC many black recruits struggled with this.

It’s not racist to discuss the differences in anatomy of human subspecies which the poster included in his/her post. A racist remark would’ve left the scientific part out. The three main subspecies have skeletal and other physical differences that can be used to identify a corpse. That’s objective medical information, not a subjective insult.

Could be a Fed posting on FR to establish their pre-determined narrative.

We can debate the reasons why most black people can’t swim, but we can’t debate the fact that most black people can’t swim.

Is this from the Onion or something? There’s absolutely no other news source that I can find that substantiates this claim. I certainly wish it was true, but we def need another source to confirm.

Not at all but I’ve been on FR for long time and remember when the discourse had some level of decent intelligence to it.

There is no denying that knowing how to swim is a good thing. But the fact remains that it is easier for a natural ‘floater’ to swim than a natural ‘sinker’.

Most people are just barely ‘floaters’, which makes sense since water makes up so much of our bodies anyway. I float with lungs full of air and sink when I exhale.

Women tend to float higher in the water than men since a higher percentage of their bodies is fat and a cubic inch of fat weighs less than a cubic inch of water. Really fat women probably don’t sink even if they exhale. Hence my guess that Whoppi likely floats pretty well, whether or not she knows how to swim.

Black men, especially fit or skinny black men and boys are much more likely to sink. If they sink even with a lungful of air this will keep them from being happy swimmers because they have to exert some energy keeping their heads above water and are thus more likely to drown. I have no doubt that generations of warnings of the dangers of deep water also leads to reluctance to take up swimming.

You can’t teach someone to swim if they are the reason the local pool shut down.

Whoopi won’t drown because when she jumps in the pool she forces all the water out.

Yeah, looks like it’s satire and not very good. I did find another weirdo site with the same info.

My mistake. I first saw it on Facebook and thought it was real.
