A father-of-two has sparked fierce debate after telling his daughter that she was a 'disappointment' after having a child aged 18.
The unnamed man, believed to be based in the US, took to Reddit's popular Am I The A**hole (AITA) subreddit to reveal the details of the family feud.
He said that he had urged his teenage daughter to get an abortion after finding out she was pregnant - but was left 'very upset' when she refused.
And other social media users were left bitterly divided at the revelation as they rushed to share their own thoughts on the matter.
In the post, which was titled 'AITA for telling my daughter she's a disappointment?', the man set the scene by revealing he has two daughters - aged 23 and 20 - who are 'both so beautiful and smart.'
He said that he had 'always wanted them to be strong and independent women who could stand on their own feet and I tried to raise them that way.'
But the dad-of-two revealed: 'My older daughter quit both sports and school when she got pregnant at the age of 18.
'When she first told us that she was pregnant, I was very upset and advised her to have an abortion because having a child at such a young age would disrupt her life.
'She did not want to have an abortion and my wife supported her decision.
'To be honest, I was very insistent on her having an abortion at that time, but when I saw that she remained determined, I dropped the issue and supported her fully, even though I didn't want to.'

An famous Italian actor and comedian named Andrea Roncato, who is now 76 years old, was once a playboy in his youth.
But nowadays he looks back on his youth with regret – specifically the time when he had his child aborted.
He explained that it was the biggest mistake of his life and since then he’s become very pro-life, according to Aleteia:

It was the mistake of my life. When I was very young, I had the chance to become a father, to have a child, but I had him aborted.
Now, I’ve become very strongly against abortion.

I guess news like that would upset any parent, but they do need a little time to think it out and come up with the most rational solution. Abortion would certainly not be the best solution. My wife & I only had one son so can’t exactly look at it from his point of view. Who knows? ...that child, if raised correctly(and there are some options)could one day grow up to be president.
She has since married, and my brother has been a GrandDude for two years. I still find this funny to watch, because growing up my brother distanced himself from his siblings as fast as he could. Now, when grandson visits, it's like watching my brother get Christmas, birthday, and lottery win all at the same time. The only time he would give up his grandson was when the grandson was still in diapers and needed to be changed.
SIL loves being Gigi, provides daycare for her grandson while niece teaches (she is in route to the school), and was EXTREMELY put out that she didn't get to help her daughter plan grandson's second birthday.

we have a lot of godless folks around here these days who resent “sinners in the hands of an angry God” or who fear for our nation when they recall with certitude “that God is Just and will reward us according to our works”
