A slate of Baltimore schools have sparked outrage after zero students passed their state math exams - with almost 75 percent testing at the lowest possible score.
The poor performances came in the latest round of Maryland's state testing, where 13 high schools in the city - a staggering 40 percent - failed to produce a single student with a 'proficient' score in math.
'This is educational homicide,' said Jason Rodriguez, deputy director of Baltimore-based nonprofit People Empowered by the Struggle, to Fox Baltimore.
The activist said there is 'no excuse' for the failure, which has come after years of warnings over the city's poor education standards.
It also comes days after a scathing new study found that schooling across America fell to dire lows during the pandemic, concluding that one-third of fourth and eighth grade students can't even read at a 'basic' level.
The concerning results, which were first raised by Project Baltimore, also saw 74.5 percent of students in the 13 failing schools score just a one of four on their test - the lowest a person can score.
Some of the city's best-known schools, including Patterson High School, Frederick Douglass, and Reginald F. Lewis, made their way onto the list, while Baltimore City Schools also received $1.6 billion last year from taxpayers.
It was the largest funding the educational authority has ever received, leading to questions over where the money went.
'So, it's not a funding issue. We're getting plenty of funding,' Rodriguez said. 'I don't think money is the issue. I think accountability is the issue.'
Alongside the huge investment from the taxpayers, the school district also received $799 million in Covid relief funding from the federal government.

This is close to a crime against humanity...all the money poured into these cesspools...and the children are neglected, abused, and in some cases damaged for life.

I taught for a number of years at an inner-city school that was at the time perhaps 50% black and 50% white. All the kids came from poor families.
All teachers have a duty for about an hour a day. It could be monitoring the cafeteria, helping out in the office, whatever. My duty was after-school tutoring. Any student with a math or science difficulty could stay after and get help.
Now here’s the interesting thing. The kids who stayed after, to try to improve their grades were almost all black. Very few whites.
I can think of plenty of excuses—but almost all of them are racist....

I bet there is zero fury among the parents of the students. I use the words ‘parents’ and ‘student’ loosely. It should be noted that there are very few individual students that actually have two parents. Additionally, the teachers don’t give a damn either. They are illiterates and illnumerates. Every administrator and teacher should be fired. The entire Baltimore County School District should be banned from receiving federal tax dollars for any purpose.
Just imagine how well they grasp the nuances of gender differentiations in the LGBTQ+++ community. Why would they need to pass a math exam. They are expert in articulating the algebra of sex orientation.

In Baltimore only 8.6% of households have a father, a mother and a child or children.
23% of households are headed by a single mother.
That means that if both types of households averaged the same number of childen three out of four kids in the school system don’t have fathers living at home.
This paragraph is a stunner:

Worked with a (black) African dude from Central Africa. Had a great attitude and, by far, the sharpest dude I ever worked with. And while people can say that only their best and brightest come here, I would have liked to have seen a honky or two match him.
But, as it was, he needed to go home, as his father had cancer and needed treatment. And guess where well-off Africans go for advanced medical care - to South Africa, which is otherwise a dump, but knew enough to not jettison their healthcare system, which was simply the BEST in the world during Apartheid (look up first human heart transplant if you don’t believe me - and they also NAILED IT regarding Omicron, noting that wasn’t much different than the common cold and pretty much ended the COVID-19 scam).
Democrats run Baltimore. And have for a very long time.
It is time for TAXPAYERS to sue State (and FED) Education Depts...past time. They need to RETURN to an EDUCATION MISSION...or be disbanded.

Before the schools teach them how to read and write, they need to teach them how to behave. Get a Marine in charge. But that’s not allowed. So the students won’t behave. Therefore, they’re not going to learn.
I wonder if they can define “man” and “woman”.
