LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The mothers of two teens accused of intentionally hitting a cyclist which resulted in his death addressed the allegations on Wednesday.
Both teens, Jesus Ayala and Jzamir Keys appeared in separate rooms in juvenile court that morning. They are expected to face charges including murder and attempted murder.
Ayala, the accused driver, was 17 years old at the time of the alleged crime spree. Tuesday marked his last court appearance in the juvenile system as the case was formally moved to adult court.
8 News Now reached out to Ayala’s mother by phone.
“I don’t know why he did this,” she said. “I don’t know if God can forgive this.”
Keys was taken into custody on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
The 8 News Now Investigators reached out to his mother by phone. She initially hung up and then responded to a text message stating her family was not making any statements or addressing any accusations without their legal team.
“My son’s side of the story will be told, ‘the truth,’ not the inaccuracies the media will try to portray,” the text read.
Police revealed at a news conference on Tuesday that the teens were involved in a crime spree starting with a hit and run of another cyclist. The 72-year-old man survived. Police said they believed Keys was the driver at that time.
In the video recorded by the passenger, the teens are seen hitting another car on the road moments before hitting and killing Probst.
The teens had stolen four cars that day, police said.
The 8 News Now Investigators have learned that Jesus Ayala, the accused driver has a lengthy record in the juvenile system.

We have lost another 2 nuclear scientists to the racist justice system./s
The teens, the teens, the teens.........................
Bad seed. Just simple evil.
Ah, “teens”. Sounds like a dog whistle...
Running the guy over and killing him was the climax of a day in which they had stolen four cars?
We are not allowed to State more explicitly or profanely what we all think of these kids.
It is undoubtedly racist to even arrest these two. They’ll probably get an apology and compensation for their pain and suffering.
Time to go into the MSM BS closet: he was a good boy, loved his momma, never got into trouble before, was always willing to help out the neighbors, would tell jokes and everyone loved his infectious smile, was finishing his GED. Was working at regular job. Completely unimaginable this would happen.....
What!? You raised MONSTERS! This is on YOU, too.
God can forgive if the teens ask Him to, but they still have to pay the price for their actions, as do we all.
A fair comment by one parent. All the could have dones and should have dones aside, not much else to say at this point. I guess she could offer, “I will pray for him at his execution.”
“My son’s side of the story will be told, ‘the truth,’ not the inaccuracies the media will try to portray,”
F you. Your gene line needs deleting.
Two very different reactions from the 2 mothers.
That's one good takeaway from the story. Lube him up for some big house action.
The parents have blame here, to be sure - but as the education system has injected itself into raising our children this is a blatant failure of the education system and teachers unions as well who have equal culpability here.
Just like the Affluenza Teen in Texas, except these kids cannot afford good lawyers.
He was a good boy. He brought home to his mother half of what he stole.
Don’t forget that the teen passenger told the teen driver to “hit his ass” - and also that they were laughing after they killed the cyclist.
As far as I’m concerned, the mothers should be tried along with their sons.
If that was my dad that little sht killed I would do everything in my power to see him released so I could burn the bastard alive.
