Probably just marketing so they can charge more for it.

That’s my guess anyways, but I am a bit jaded about life these days. Seems like anyone will do anything just for money.

“Seems like anyone will do anything just for money.”

I feel the same way.

Except when liberal companies decide to turn against their base in order to make a political point!

No, I used regular Dawn; my bottle is clear, not even blue. Other brands may work, I just used what I had; I think the point is that dish detergent needs that concentrated oil degreaser to get the dishes really clean. But Dawn often advertises their formula, such as cleaning those birds caught in oil slicks.

My Beagle got into a fight with something and he had some pretty bad gashes. We have a WONDERFUL Local Veterinarian who makes house calls (I know!) and I asked her to come see if he needed stitches or not. (Of course Beau was not home when this happened!)

Anyhow, she sedated him, looked him over well, and had me mix up a pan of warm water and Dawn dish soap and used that to clean his wounds. She says Dawn is a ‘modern miracle invention’ and she uses only that brand when she needs to.

$225.00 later, we were all Happy Campers. Well, the Beagle was happier a FEW days later - he didn’t need any stitches. :)

the poor baby. how wonderful that he didn’t have the trauma of going to the vet along with his injuries. $225 doesn’t sound much higher than going to a vet’s office.

I hope your dog healed up! it’s hard to see them hurting

He’s fine. All healed up, no lasting trauma. Typical day around here - someone or something is bleeding or limping, or involved in general mayhem of some sort. Luckily, it’s usually not me! ;)

We have FOUR puppies running around right now; they are Free-Range Puppies, LOL!

They're not rescues - we had an "Oops" pregnancy at Bear Camp this fall, but LUCKILY Mama 'Paiute' managed to get herself knocked up by a pedigreed male, so it's all good!

Newborns:

Beautiful, 'Crow' who is from a different litter, but we got her about the same time. She is the daughter of our 'Sunshine' who is the Top Dog in MN for raccoon hunting. Excited to see how she turns out!

'Mandan,' left and 'Crow.'

Three of the pups from this litter have been taken to their 'Fur-Ever' homes. We've kept three and also, 'Crow.'

Yes, I aways use less than the recommended liquid detergent.

Our kids grew so fast they only had garage sale clothes. Some were new with the store tags still on but I wasn’t shy if there was a “please take everything” deal on nasty clothes and used homemade stain removers. The best is a combination of lemon juice and/or baking soda and/or salt made into a paste and scrub or let sit. Or put lemon juice on the stain and let it sit all day in the bright sunlight. Of course, keep an eye on it as it may take the color out. If all else fails, sew a pretty flower or cartoon patch over a stain.

These warmonger world leaders are insane. It’s obvious they don’t love their children or grandchildren. They also don’t seem to grasp there is always someone bigger and badder who will take them out.

Dawn isn’t what it used to be. They’ve changed the recipe or diluted it during C19. I can’t get through the regular daily dirty dishes of just the two of us.

Keep several bottles of hydrogen peroxide (yes, they expire quickly) on hand to get skunk smell off the dog. Use it straight with a big sprinkle of baking soda and a squirt of dishsoap to cut through the oil.

At one time Hartz dog flea shampoo had “kills lice” on the front label until the government heard people were using it on their heads instead of the more expensive Rid and made Hartz take it off the label. Same list of ingredients before and after the label change.

QUESTION:

Do any of you make your own yogurt? It looks pretty easy. Where do you keep it so it’s at 110 degrees for the few hours it takes to curdle/thicken? (Put the jar/s in a Crock Pot?) Do you recommend a specific store-brand for the initial culture needed? Thanks!

I used to make yogurt all the time - I used my chicken egg incubator (hovabator) and mason jars with plastic lids. Worked wonderfully.

Just be sure to disinfect your incubator with bleach or such before switching over.
