I hear over and over how we are and will be controlled electronically. Smart meters running appliances, information sucked out of cars and transmitted...

So are there ways of shielding meters and cars from passing along information?

Just like there are people who change power settings on trucks with chips are there people who are designing items for protection of our privacy in consumer goods?

Or do we just cover everything in tinfoil?

If (or WHEN) they start requiring everything and everyone to be monitored, they will also make it a crime to block the monitoring. Makes me wonder about folks. This has been a staple of science fiction since I was knee high to a short sheep. I’m approaching 70 now.

When I look at our daily use of technology it appears to me we are already slaves to computers.

We are in a Technology Trap, and when that trap closes in on us, we are royally screwed.

The way I understand it when this happens, and I believe it will, there will be zero means of avoiding this. You might can do this now...but in the end you will be unable to avoid or hide from this.

Sometime back I remember reading or hearing about a device for your home power production that was essentially a small sealed nuclear reactor requiring minimal service about every 20 yrs. or so. This sounded pretty good as this should put you essentially “off the grid”. Of course, your home would necessarily be all electric.

Well tin foil works for your cell phone. I don’t know about your electric meter. 😉

AM/FM works fine for me.

I don’t feel deprived.

And AM/FM don’t cost me nuttin’.

Plus nobody will be tempted to try to steal my AM/FM radio or my stripper car. :-)

They can profile you, and charge you more at certain times to control your behavior.

Yup. Lived in Nevada up to three years ago. We had the remote-reading power meters.

Nevada power stated on their website that you could open an account with them and read your updated power consumption every fifteen minutes.

Next step is peak-hours billing and activity profiling.

Got them here in Kansas too.

I thought the reason was because they want to make the world safe for perverts like them....

Secondary. Primary is to take control over the planet, so they can control the environment, for if free people act in their best interest, the planet will be DESTROYED...as they see it.

You just move on. Cause, honestly, with 331 million of us, and growing, they simply are not going to be doing that. It’s just too much effort. All these people telling you this are just trying to sell you fear. Don’t buy it. Move on with your life.

Yeah, I think I remember that...closest I could find was this from 2007 (lots of ads):

https://www.wired.com/2007/12/toshibas-home-n/

Newer ones are “Medium Sized” I guess:

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/westinghouse-unveils-small-modular-nuclear-reactor-2023-05-04/

What happened to the “small” ones?:
