NFL Players Association executive director Lloyd Howell called Wednesday for all 30 NFL stadiums to utilize natural grass rather than turf after New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles tear on Monday night at MetLife Stadium.

ESPN's Adam Schefter posted Howell's statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which he noted that data shows playing on grass instead of turf can help curb "unnecessary injuries."

During the Jets' 22-16 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles on New York's fourth offensive play from scrimmage when he was sacked by Leonard Floyd.

The worst turf was in old Veterans Stadium in Philly.

The National Felon League needs to get scientific about this.

Every player should punch out their wife and/or girlfriend during the halftime show—half on each kind of turf—see what the injuries are...

For football injuries, I remember Busch Stadium being the worst, but the Vet wasn't too far behind. Especially in cold weather, the padding lost its ability to cushion impact, and it was just like getting tackled on concrete. Philly being colder than St. Louis may have made things worse, but it would have been the same everywhere in the North. I think players should hove longer careers playing on natural grass and dirt than on artificial turf.
