You don't know the story.

The NFL has refused to eliminate artificial turf.

But then they wanted to bid for a World Cup in their stadiums. The FIFA or whatever it is says no artificial turf, so now the NFL is getting rid of it.

So, to repeat, they will do it for soccer players, but not their own players.

NFL isn’t getting rid of it for the World Cup, stadium owners are.

I don’t think the artificial turf is being removed from any NFL stadiums. They’re simply going to put temporary grass on top of the artificial turf, and remove it after the World Cup is over.

I’ve heard that New England might be an exception. Apparently Robert Kraft wants to use the World Cup as an opportunity to replace the turf in Foxboro with natural grass permanently.
