If Feinstein were to resign, Newsom could appoint a replacement, as Petie Wilson did in 1991 when he appointed fellow RINO John “See More Taxes” Seymour to the Senate to replace himself after he was elected governor. Seymour served less than two years before losing to Dianne Feinstein.

But I don’t know if he can legally appoint a “caretaker” if Feinstein refuses to step down.
